If you’re a coach and you learn something new that contradicts your old methods, don’t be afraid to tell your athletes that. We expect them to be open minded and learn, we should be doing the same. It’s a great way to build rapport and trust with them.

The secret to learning...
...obsess over learning. You can learn ANYTHING if you actually care to. You don’t need the most well funded school, have the best teachers, have genius IQ. You just need the desire.
Unfortunately, in my experience, most everyone could give a shit.

An interesting aspect of training hitters today is the lack of interest in designing and executing an approach, despite the info at hand.
Could be due to years of confusion w/ coaches yelling "have an approach!" with no substance behind it or crushing bad pitching?

🤔 Imagine that. Prepare for what’s actually going to happen..
Perfect practice simply makes you a perfect practicer.
If the conditions are different than the game environment, it’s like acing your English homework in preparation for a Math test.
Practice deliberately.

Nothing worse in my opinion than a coach who says “they don’t get it”. It’s our job as coaches to find the way to make the player understand whatever it is we are trying to teach. There’s always a way.
