WHY has Bollywood stopped producing Movies with storylines around Love and Romance? Have you ever thought about this? The youth of India were able to relate with these dreamsellers - about falling in love, having a family, a steady income, building your own home - buying an apartment, a car, going on vacations with family and friends etc. The REASON given by my friends in Bollywood is that there are NO takers for these stories anymore. A large percentage of youth in India have given up Hope of ever earning enough to have their own home, own car, able to deliver on a committed relationship, or ever able to afford anybof the pleasures of travelling etc. like the Indians used to enjoy 12-15 years back. It is not Uncommon for young India refusing to get married,have children, raise families etc. Cost of living and raising children is getting prohibitively forbidding to nurture such dreams. HOPE of the Youth has been crushed by the Right Wing Politics and 24x7 toxic media streaming into their living rooms tuned in by depressed parents. Instead, the movies now are about fictional characters- super heroes fighting non existing enemies, or eulogising crime, frauds...and if course BJP sponsored political propaganda movies. The youth, especially in BIMARU states are being encouraged and motivated to participate in Kanwar Yatra and various other flag yatras with a generous distribution of liquor and narcotics - weed etc Prostituites are hired to perform vulgar dances during religious functions and otherwise. Love , respect and romance are taken over by Lust, Rape and betrayal. Romantic songs aren't popular anymore. Instead Bhojpuri songs with explicit sexual overtones are played. Building a career is out of question. Youth who wanted to serve in the army have been reduced to 4 years contract -#Agniveers trained to use lethal weapons and then let loose as frustrated unemployed youths in the society whom no one will marry. Achievements celebrated are no longer stories of bringing water to a dry village like in the movie Swades, or celebrating the spirit of India as in Lagaan, or Champion stuff like Chak de India, Dangal etc Rather replaced by building tall statues, lighting billions of lamps, getting crores of people for holy dips in Ganges, etc WHAT is left for the youth in India to dream and aspire about? What are the kind of Movies that will bring people back to watching Bollywood? Many across the Nation are now watching Malayalam and other south Indian movies dubbed / or with dialogues running on screen in English/hindi language - where a market still exists for healthy wholesome and sane stories. There is an URGENT need for India to Unite and FIGHT against the forces that are attempting to change the fabric of India. #ChaloDilli
