Kinda want to try and start a movement to free BioWare from the clutches of EA. Or at the very least apply enough pressure as fans to allow BioWare to reclaim their creative freedom to do what they do best and that’s make incredible stories and worlds.

Oh EA is DOA in next 2 to 4 years.
They are never repaying their debt, not even able to pay for debt servicing.
Kushner is gonna be in investigation hell by Congress by next year.
Saudis are screwed with regional war with Iran and Yemeni Houthis.

#SaveMassEffect is a campaign calling on Electronic Arts to secure a future for the Mass Effect franchise, either through properly funded development or licensing the franchise to a qualified studio. We support and thank developers who brought this universe to life!

It’s incredible to see how the Mass Effect community has come together over the past few days.
Thank you to everyone sharing, creating, organizing, and keeping the conversation going.
This has always been a community effort. ❤️

Well; us at @masseffect remember when you said the dream of a Mass Effect 5 is still alive, so fingers crossed for a new developer years later.

I know people want to help with the #SaveMassEffect initiative and we will be opening up a GoFundMe with any overflow going to the Game Worker Hardship Fund.
It would be cool if people could donate a few dollars, but I ask that you don't break the bank for something like this. 400 EA devs and 50 BioWare devs were laid off and their lives have been changed. I know we want to Save Mass Effect, but please remember the people behind these games. This movement is for them as much as it is for us.

EA has a decades-long record of acquiring studios for their IP then closing or absorbing them when they no longer fit the portfolio strategy (Westwood, Bullfrog, Origin, Maxis, Pandemic, Visceral, and now BioWare). Fan criticism reacts to that pattern; it does not create it. Supporting individual Respawn titles does not override the parent company’s control over budgets, staffing, and project greenlights.
The BioWare closure and Mass Effect cancellation arrived roughly 78 days after EA’s $55 billion leveraged buyout by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (majority owner), Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners. The deal loaded the company with roughly $18–20 billion in debt and ~$1.8 billion in annual interest. Cost-cutting and concentration on higher-margin areas (sports, live-service shooters) follow from that ownership and debt structure, not from fans refusing to buy every EA game.
Money spent on successful Respawn games (Jedi series, Apex) still flows to the same parent company that just shuttered another studio. Selective support for titles people enjoy is reasonable; treating public criticism of the publisher’s track record as the primary problem shifts accountability away from the executives and owners who make the final calls. Consumer pressure remains one of the limited levers available against large publishers that repeatedly prioritise short-term financial metrics.

If FIFA fans had joined us, it would have taken ea a day to post a statement and leave BioWare alone with all the IPs in order not to lose its biggest fanbase
