I wasn't planning to share this, but I feel like I should.
Last week, I joined a tech Space thinking it would be a good place to learn something. But what happened there genuinely shocked me. A few people with strong technical skills were mocking mental health.
Initially, I used to join Telugu Spaces, mostly fan wars. I always told people that there were some really good tech Spaces too. But now, I honestly don't know what to tell them.
Just because you work at a big tech company or a FAANG company, does that make you a better person? At the end of the day, you're a human being, just like everyone else.
Why do people think working at a big company automatically makes someone worthy of more respect?
And now, tell me, should we respect people who mock mental health issues just because they have great technical skills?
You may have skills, knowledge, and an impressive career, but how you use that knowledge and treat other people matters just as much.
I've also noticed that some people in the Indian tech community seem to take a lot of pride in working at big companies. There's nothing wrong with that. It's your goal, you've worked hard for it, and you deserve to be proud of your achievements.
But life isn't just about getting into a big company. It's also about how we choose to live, how we treat others, and the kind of people we become.
I'm not against anyone working at FAANG or any other big company. I'm against the idea that professional success somehow makes someone superior to others.
I genuinely lost respect for the people who mocked mental health.
You can be highly skilled and still lack basic empathy. Please learn to be kind. Mental health deserves to be taken seriously, not mocked.

Self-awareness isn't just knowing your strengths and weaknesses.
It's also noticing when your own behavior hurts someone and being willing to take responsibility for it :)

At what point did your definition of success begin to change??
Was it a particular experience, a difficult period, or simply growing older?
People can be so easily influenced when making decisions. Instead of believing in themselves, they blindly follow influencers words
One thought, It's always good to listen to different opinions, but we should never stop trusting our own judgment :)
