Achieving American energy abundance and dominance won't happen without fixing the broken federal permitting system. "Today, a single environmental review under NEPA takes about four years on average. Construction cannot start without first spending years in the regulatory penalty box." – @SenJohnBarrasso in @washingtonpost Over 100 NEPA lawsuits filed every year. $1.5 trillion in frozen infrastructure. A process designed for delay, and reform is long overdue. Read the full op-ed: washingtonpost.com/opinions/……

The U.S. electric grid powers our economy — yet its value often goes unnoticed until the lights go out. A recent independent study by Concentric Advisors confirms what CRES Forum has long argued: the American grid is one of this country’s most valuable assets, and sustained, strategic investment is essential to maintaining its performance. A stronger, smarter grid benefits all Americans. Not only is investing in offshore wind vital for our national security, as MG (Ret.) @PaulDEaton52 lays out here, it's also wildly popular. In fact: 70% of voters support new offshore wind projects in general, and 68.5% support development in their own states. MORE: stripes.com/opinion/2025-05-…

Over the past two years, 12 new and retrofit vessels have been launched or are under construction in shipyards across the Gulf region––all with the purpose of advancing offshore wind development in America. Talk about maritime dominance! 💪 🚢 Long known for its shipbuilding and oil & gas expertise, maritime leaders in the Gulf are now applying their workforces and know-how to champion this next chapter of American-made offshore energy. Across Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida, over 200 companies are already active in the national offshore wind supply chain, with hundreds more ready to dive in. The region is a critical industry hub and has received billions in supply chain investments for vessel construction and retrofitting, as well as $610 million to upgrade JSW Steel’s Baytown, Texas steel mill to provide high-quality, American steel to fabricate monopiles. In many cases, the Inflation Reduction Act’s clean energy tax credits have been key to unlocking investments in steel and shipbuilding, but that federal support is now at risk of being lost. We're calling on the Senate to continue improving the IRA bill passed by the House to ensure businesses that are counting on the credits can use them to create local jobs, expand American shipbuilding and manufacturing capacity, and ensure our nation can meet the fast-growing demand for new energy generation. Share this post. Contact your Senator. And help spread the word: We need more vessels to support an offshore wind industry that is shovel-ready and can unlock up to 10 GW of energy by 2030, and the Gulf––and the IRA––are critical to making it happen. #OSWatWork #IRA #Energy

Good news! With electricity demand and prices increasing, modernizing the grid and increasing supply with renewables like solar and offshore wind are critical to enhancing affordability and reliability.
Increasing the number of distributed clean energy resources, including new solar projects, is part of our comprehensive strategy to help mitigate the pressure on ratepayers by increasing the supply of clean energy, which requires continued collaboration with utilities.
