THREAD 1/x ONLY new government spending can increase private sector’s net savings. Taxation does the opposite. Every £ comes either from government spending (adding to total government debt until taxed back) or from bank lending (creating deposits but no extra wealth overall).

Israelis heard three Druse speaking in Arabic in a Tel Aviv club. They beat them so badly all three were hospitalised. Now the Druse are protesting and blocking roads. Not least because all three were serving in the Israeli military. The Druse are drafted in Israel and often end up in elite formations. It's quite remarkable that they were attacked in hyper liberal Tel Aviv. But it shows you where Israeli youths are politically. The older generation of politicians often refer to Druse as blood brothers. The younger generation is just rabid.

On 24 October 2026, three-year-old Nevada was playing football in Florida when, adults upset by his goal-scoring called the police. The league @i9Sports then issued his family a trespass notice. LET THAT SINK IN. A TODDLER was scoring goals, and grown adults escalated it to police involvement. Nevada is THREE. His opponents were around FIVE. And he was still outplaying them. Imagine being so rattled by a toddler’s talent that you’d rather involve the police than accept that a child half their size might simply be better at football. What an embarrassing lesson for the adults to teach.

Hi @Iromg, you threatened to sue me over this story. Did you also threaten legal action against Kevin MacKenzie, who originally published it? In his tweet, he alleged that you arrived late at Richard Tice and Isabel Oakeshott’s wedding reception at The Shard, appeared to be drunk, fell asleep during Tice’s speech, then grabbed the microphone and delivered a speech in what some reportedly felt was a version of Latin. He also alleged that you got into a wrestling match with David Bull, fell over and were involved in a further physical altercation with a guest. Nigel Farage was reportedly heard saying, “Mike’s out of control.” If you believe these allegations are false and defamatory, have you also considered taking action against the original publisher, whose tweet received more views and likes than mine? Have you pursued the original source as well as me? If not why not?

I asked Grok a straight question about news bias. • Viewer/audience trust: Ofcom data has shown GB News viewers rate their channel higher for trustworthiness and range of views than BBC viewers rate the BBC. However, broader surveys (e.g., Reuters Institute) typically show higher overall public trust in the BBC. • Format differences: BBC is more traditional news-oriented (with some analysis). GB News mixes news with more opinion and debate, which amplifies perceived bias. • Bias is subjective and often reflects the viewer’s own views. Both outlets have clear editorial tendencies and documented shortcomings; neither is perfectly neutral. In short, systematic third-party ratings indicate GB News is more politically biased (rightward) and has weaker reliability scores, while the BBC is closer to center with higher factual ratings—despite legitimate criticisms of the BBC’s progressive lean on certain social issues and recent editorial failures. For the most balanced view, cross-reference multiple sources. xitter.cf/i/grok/share/75c1ad395…

Money is created when government spends. Money is not the problem. The question is what we do with money and for whose benefit. Let's start with renewable energy, insulated homes, rent controls and council houses? Their economics has delivered poverty and billionaires. Enough!
“Next year he actually has to find the money that doesn’t exist.” “There are things the Government can do that aren’t just about tax.” Rachel Wolf, who co-wrote the 2019 Conservative manifesto and Paul Nowak, TUC General Secretary, discuss the challenge facing Andy Burnham’s government, ahead of next week’s Budget #Newsnight

Actually, no. Zionism is about 130 years old. No Jewish text or teaching before that time was about taking over the Land of Israel by force and taking it from other people. That is not a Jewish value. Our religion never proposed or suggested that. Zionism, a modern, political ideology, arose as a rebellion against religion.

It’s astonishing that people who watch GB News don’t like watching BBC News because of BBC “left wing” bias. Whilst the left watch the BBC and see clear establishment bias. Such nuances are lost on the right.

So, the right would have us believe that immigrants take all our jobs - whilst they also don’t work and take benefits. The right also claim immigrants are fit young men, whilst they are also using NHS services. The contradictions are many.

The GB News reporter in France started to explain that a major cause of the protests in France was against immigration - the GB News studio presenter quickly intervened to stop him - because this suggested the right were prominent in the protests.

Read this fantastic post, then think about where you fit in all of this. As @NaomiAKlein said: "Fascism is capitalism's most ferocious threat response. A way of making sure that public anger is directed downward at the vulnerable, rather than upward at the system.” If you still believe that change is coming, from those who employ these tactics, then you are part of the problem.

Elon Musk is promoting a video that rewrites the history of Nazism to suit today’s far right. Here’s what happened in 1933, who made the video, and why it matters. Within weeks of Hitler taking power in January 1933, the organised left was being dismantled. Communists, Social Democrats and trade unionists were rounded up, and Dachau opened in March, initially to imprison political opponents, above all Communists. On 2 May the Nazis smashed the independent trade unions and replaced them with the state-controlled German Labour Front. A week later, students burned the works of Marx and Kautsky, with a fire oath declaring itself “against class struggle and materialism”. Dachau’s first murders came on 12 April 1933, when the SS shot four Jewish prisoners: Rudolf Benario, Ernst Goldmann, Arthur Kahn and Erwin Kahn. Benario and Goldmann were young left-wing activists from Fürth. The very rich were treated differently. Many industrialists had feared the Nazis were socialists, so in January 1932 Hitler addressed Düsseldorf’s Industry Club, playing down his antisemitism and stressing his anti-Marxism to reassure them. Few backed him openly until he took power. On 20 February 1933, Hitler met leading industrialists, Gustav Krupp among them, and told them: “Private enterprise cannot be maintained in the age of democracy.” It was conceivable, he said, only where people had “a sound idea of authority and personality”. They contributed more than two million Reichsmarks to the election fund of Hitler’s coalition. Private ownership was preserved for compliant industrialists, company profits rose sharply, and in the mid-1930s the regime even sold state stakes in banks, steelworks and shipping back into private hands. In 1934, Hitler also had members of his own movement who took its anti-capitalist rhetoric seriously murdered during the Night of the Long Knives. Yes, the Nazis controlled prices, wages and investment, as Britain did in wartime. State control tells you how an economy is run, and the question that matters is whom it serves. The Nazi state crushed independent labour, protected compliant employers, and harnessed the economy to rearmament and conquest. That is why historians place Nazism on the far right, including conservatives such as Ernst Nolte, who saw anti-Marxism as fascism’s defining feature. The word in the party’s name was largely a recruiting device, designed to lure workers away from the real socialist and communist parties. A name settles nothing, any more than North Korea’s makes it democratic. The man Musk is amplifying is Brivael Le Pogam, the Paris-based co-founder of Argil, a Silicon Valley-backed company selling AI video avatars, who boasts of using AI to win hundreds of millions of views. His self-described “masterclass” spends minutes on price controls and the voting habits of American professors. It never once mentions the Holocaust. Race appears once, as “fuel”. He is candid about why. With Hitler on the right, he complains, anyone defending “borders” or “the nation” is “one step away from fascism”. That is “why Milei is far right” and “why people call Elon Musk a Nazi”. A nationalist politics is to be cleansed by relabelling history’s most murderous nationalist. He even cites Leo Strauss’s “reductio ad Hitlerum”, the fallacy of condemning an idea because Hitler held it, and then commits it from start to finish. And his test of freedom is simply the free market, which would place Pinochet’s Chile, with its torture and disappearances, on the side of freedom. So the world’s richest man is promoting an attempt to free the far right from its own history, turning the Nazis’ first victims into props for their persecutors. History records which side Germany’s richest men chose in 1933. It’s worth noticing who is now keen to blur it. It’s polished, confident and wrong, and it’s built to divide: anyone who objects is cast as the enemy of freedom. Freedom for whom? Remember who filled Dachau first.
Hitler was a far left socialist. Literally in the name of his party!

I'm not going to name the school, but the @BBC's coverage of the antisemitism in schools report featured interviews with children from a Jewish school. Here's the rub, though. The school's own published curriculum explicitly teaches Zionism, celebrates the establishment of Israel and describes preparing pupils to become "positive advocates for Israel" at university. It even references bringing in organisations such as StandWithUs to prepare pupils for that advocacy. Now, let me be absolutely clear. There is nothing wrong with teaching Jewish history, culture or identity. And antisemitism must be challenged wherever it exists. But when children are actively encouraged to advocate for a particular state, rather than critically examine its history, policies and actions, surely we have to question whether this is education or ideological conditioning? And here's the staggering hypocrisy. We're being told that schools must exercise political impartiality when discussing Palestine, while a school can openly describe preparing children to advocate for Israel. Political impartiality cannot be a principle applied selectively, depending on which side of a conflict children are encouraged to support. And the BBC has a responsibility to scrutinise that distinction, not simply present children's views without examining the educational environment in which those views have developed. Children deserve an education that teaches them how to think, not what to think. @NEUnion @educationgovuk
