No! Last time DST was extended into winter, it COST CHILDREN’S LIVES! Morning sunlight helps us wake, feel alert, and arrive to school/work safely. Tell Congress to pass the Sunshine for Our Kids Act instead!
🚨 JUST IN: President Trump is demanding an IMMEDIATE END to Standard Time, making Daylight Saving Time PERMANENT POTUS argues it’ll LOWER the vioIent crime rate as well. TRUMP: “People are sick and tired of having to change their clocks twice a year. It is foolish, inconvenient and, in some cases, very costly.” “A recent case was made that it is also bad for your health in the anxiety it creates. Leading Medical, Crime, and Economic Studies have shown that ceasing the biannual time change, giving us one extra hour of natural sunlight in the evenings, will help Decrease Robbery and Murder Rates, Reduce Car Accidents (especially those involving Pedestrians!), Lower Risk for Cardiac Issues, Stroke, and Seasonal Depression, Make It Safer for Children to Walk Home from School, Increase Time with your Family, Strongly Support Extracurricular Activities, Be a Big Boost to Sports, Fitness, Tourism, Retail, and the Restaurant Industries (and more!), and Save Money on Energy Bills, because everyone will be enjoying an EXTRA HOUR OF DAYLIGHT.”

The Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act will help nearly 35 million seniors with Medicare Advantage get the health care they need faster. Let’s bring this overwhelmingly bipartisan, zero-cost bill to the floor.

🚨NEWS: This week, my legislation, the "Improving Seniors' Timely Access to Care Act," reached 290 co-sponsors in the U.S. House -- an overwhelming bipartisan supermajority. This legislation puts patient care and patient outcomes first, and it will greatly modernize and streamline the prior authorization process. Learn more⬇️ kelly.house.gov/media/press-…

Because of contracts with external entities, I am required to do mandatory annual education for 3 different groups. Please sit & imagine doing 3 different (but same) educational modules on phishing. Send help…preferably in the form of alcohol. They wonder why we get burned out.

Med schools are moving away from comparative grades. The debate rages on, and there are thoughtful arguments on both sides. Fine. My humble request: Consistency among schools. There are hundreds of different scales and rules. Just pick one system and make every school use it.

Me (woken up on call out of REM sleep): We should probably hypercoagulate them if there’s a clot in the vein. Resident: Yes, I will work with ICU to get that started. Me: Better yet, let’s anticoagulate them. In full transparency, you should probably never hypercoagulate someone.

Heading to DC now for my tenth NOH, but will my clothes make it, too? The long running jokes continues…

The clothes made it. I made it and I’m excited to chip away at the burdens that make our jobs harder. Let’s do this!

In the past 8 years, I have spent about 20% of my time in this room… I did the math. I’ve worried about very sick children here. I’ve made plans to treat them here. I’ve done some great advocacy work here. I’m just moving down the hall, but this space will always be special.

Someone replicate this in pediatrics, stat.
neurology.org/doi/10.1212/CP… Vitals checks at night for stable ward-level patients rarely change management (NNT 1,856) but cause patient suffering and significantly contribute to delirium. We should strongly consider spacing these out or foregoing them entirely on select patients.
