I feel like writers block is what happens when I neglect the paid subscription to the creative cortex in my brain.

Writing my first book felt like an exercise in therapy, writing my second feels the same but with fangs.

I used to ask all the time well, what happens after you get an agent? open.substack.com/pub/tylerp…

I've had so many people ask about word counts, so I thought I'd share the standard word counts for published books in the genres I represent! Word counts are one of the first pieces of information an agent looks at in your query, so they may be more important than you think!

If you didn’t get an agent like during questpit, PLEASE don’t despair and PLEASE keep your favourite pitch pinned! Most of my interest comes 2-3 days after the event!

THE EVERLASTING x THE KNIGHT AND THE MOTH In TO GIVE UP OUR GHOSTS, Gwyn must slay the dragon that killed his ghostly lover, Vera. But the god-princess sees his ghosts, and he must decide if unraveling her secrets is worth risking Vera's revival. #questpit #Q #RF #A

ALT TO GIVE UP OUR GHOSTS title slide

Gwyn can summon the ghost of his dead lover, Vera, but he can't bring her back to life. Four years ago, he failed to slay the dragon that killed her and destroyed his village, leaving him exiled by the god-king he served. Since then, he's absorbed the dragon's magic from its fallen scales, and Vera's spirit has haunted him. God-princess Celeste feels like a failure as a ruler. A dragon ravages her kingdom, her people starve, and her father has vanished. Worse, she inherited none of the magics her father and his knights wield to help her people. Desperate, she looks to Gwyn, the disgraced knight who knows both her father and the dragon. Gwyn agrees to help, believing that with the god-king, they can defeat the dragon and claim its magic to resurrect Vera. But when Celeste can see Vera's ghost—something only magic wielders can do—she realizes she has the power to help after all.
