EXCLUSIVE: 4 star California WR Ty Johnson has FLIPPED his commitment from @ArizonaFBall to in-state rival Arizona State University he confirmed with SunDevilDaily this morning.
Among the reasons for the flip, Johnson said that “Arizona State is a great program with a history of sending receivers into the league” and was primarily recruited by ASU’s Wide Receiver Coach and Super Bowl MVP Hines Ward.
Johnson was Arizona’s only 4 star of the 2027 cycle according to 247’s recruiting class tracker furthering Head Coach Brent Brennan’s recruiting woes as they are set to host and lose to Iowa State tomorrow.
Best head coach in Southern Arizona!!
So proud of our boys tonight! Huge win over Cactus Shadows 31-24!

Maybe you should explain what you mean by “a 4th & 20 from the -30”.
I have no friggin’ clue what that is supposed to mean, in relation to an “onside kick”.
Top 2029 QB in Arizona! Was 5th in passing yards across all of Arizona prior to missing some time.
A lot more work to do but proud of Ryan for this recognition!
Very honored to receive 3 stars from Rivals/On3 and be listed as the top 2029 QB in Arizona. Thank you to my coaches and teammates for helping me get better every day, but not satisfied. Still a lot of work to do!

The NFL needs to replace the onside kick.
They’re harder than ever to recover and they kill any late game, two score drama.
I say they implement a 4th & 20 from the -30. Who’s with me?
This blew up and people seem to think you’re giving an unfair advantage to the team that’s behind.
So if a defense allows a score, allows a 4th & 20 conversion, and then allows another score to lose, we’re blaming the rules and not the defense?? Never heard anyone complaining about the original rules…
Also, nobody seems to have an issue in basketball with teams being able to advance the ball without a timeout. Doesn’t that give an unfair advantage to the offense?
I’d love for onside rules to go back to how they were - overload one side, running start, etc. But the NFL will never go for that because of safety.
So what’s a proper alternative?
The drop off started when the NFL banned the kicking team getting a running start. It’s been made slightly worse by having to declare now.
The NFL says they are targeting a 12% conversion rate, but it’s 0% this year. It should be very hard, but it shouldn’t be impossible.
0:06 on the clock, clock will wind on the ref’s signal, 3rd and 22, JD5 under center to spike…
And Shanahan bails them out with a timeout
It blows my mind how bad clock management is sometimes
ASU fans… you know that I love to troll you… but comparing Kenny to Todd Graham or Herm Edwards is insaneeeeee
Kenny is a great coach. As an Arizona fan, I hate that that’s the case.
Is this a great season? No. But ASU is going to be just fine with Kenny at the helm
