Forty years ago today, the Supreme Court of Canada decided the case of a young woman from Prince Edward Island. The trial judge called her Eve to protect her privacy. Her mother had asked for court permission to have Eve sterilized, and the case went all the way to Ottawa. 1/16

Stan Cho's wife is a teacher in the Toronto Catholic board, and a real estate agent. 🤣
She could help them sell off some schools, I guess...
Unless she's still mad about all those luxury hotel rooms her husband was using to screw his side pieces. 🤣
Canadians can’t afford rent. Food bank use is at a record high. Wages are stagnant while the rich are getting richer than ever before.
Of all the people who could use this kind of federal support right now, venture capitalists are at the bottom of that list.

Brilliant data and note even remotely surprised, ugh.
1/10 I’ve long assumed Parliament spends almost all its disability time on MAiD, so I tested it. I analyzed every House of Commons speech since the 2019 Truchon decision, 257,640 of them, and wrote my tests down before counting. MAiD leads, with about a third of that time.

ALT Image: tile 1, “Two ways to count” Alt text: Bar chart titled “MAiD led Parliament’s disability time. How much depends on what you count.” December 2019 to October 2026. MAiD’s share of House of Commons floor time on disability priorities: 33%. MAiD’s share of committee hours on disability bills and studies in both chambers: about 77%, estimated. Wayne Long making an absolute joke of himself lately.

NEW: The Ford government has broken its own record for ad spending.
Internal documents show its advertising bill climbed to more than $117 million last year, according to internal documents — the highest total in a single year in Ontario’s history.

Both of these miserable fucks love spending our money on ads telling us how great they are, but why wouldn't they, Canadians swallow it all and beg for more.
PM Mark Carney comments on the Ford government's 'protect Ontario' ads -- and suggests mentions of federal funding is left out.

NEW: An Ontario cancer patient is taking the Ford government to court for refusing to fund a U.S. treatment that could save her life.
"People are just being told to die."
The government pointed to cost savings as one of the reasons it is limiting which patients can receive funding for out-of-country treatments.

Framing the move as a cost-saving measure is not sitting right with Apitz-Grossman.
