“Follow the gourde!” Patrick Egan asks why Western drone integration is still tangled in standards, lobbying, and delays while China expands its low-altitude economy. From Part 108 to Buzzy the Drone, who is the system really serving? uasnewsus.com/articles/nest-…

“From flight trials to special operations.” TEKEVER says USSOCOM has purchased its UAS following validation, training, and flight testing at multiple sites. The number and models remain undisclosed. An ISR procurement milestone. uasnewsus.com/articles/tekev…

"Built assuming no network exists." QuanSoft's Whisper SDK holds drone data securely on board during a link outage and sends it once a link returns. It doesn't claim to beat jamming, just to keep the data. Planning for no network should be standard for unmanned systems. uasnewsus.com/articles/quans…

America’s capital markets are an underrated strategic weapon. Anduril CEO Brian Schimpf on turning that edge into a tool for national priorities: "The US capital market structure is, it's not like it's 10% better than anyone else, it's like several thousand times better than anyone else. Like it is just wildly better." "If you're leaning into that and saying, 'Hey, we actually have great capital allocators that know how to underwrite companies and lean in on these things.' Great, let's just use the capital stack in a way that is aligned with national priorities around certain industries, certain capabilities, things like that." "Where else could you finance $200 billion of data center investments with like basically no real revenue to show for it? Like it's crazy." @SchimpfBrian @eriktorenberg

Tesla's Roadster jump is really a spacecraft reaction-control problem in a car. Thrusters, ~80 kW of suction fans, and a controller deciding which force to use. The same stack runs across land, air, and space. uasnewsus.com/articles/tesla…

Remote ID failed. Detection numbers are a joke. Cartels and prison pipelines found the gap first. "Call the sheriff" isn't a C-UAS plan. A camera that witnesses the crime isn't a cop. Part III of IV. uasnewsus.com/articles/part-…

Section 2209, tariffs, mobile TFRs, Part 108, LAANC reservations, and no-drone zones enabler. None of that is a safety system. Its what you get after losing public trust. The Western drone ecosystem hasn't been in this much danger since the FAAs February 2007 policy clarification wiped out UAS livelihoods overnight. And this isn't only about Best Buy flyers and a DJI ban. Every facility, school, dog pound, hospital, local government is going to angle for its own no-drone zone. Everyone down to the local politician is going to want a personal TFRs. Free press for the paranoid oligarch fighter. Add passive LAANC table reservations to the millions of deliveries a day, and the AAM flights needed to hit .42 cents a per passenger-mile, and the small operator ends up giving up their rights of way for good. Part 108 is being sold as hope. The only people who'll realistically be able to self-certify and gin up a safety case have deep pockets, a stable of lobbyists, and the ability to put distance between mishaps and the NTSB reports. Meanwhile, the law-abiding end user (aka bag-holder) is left to scrape a living out of an ever-shrinking airspace envelope. That's a Western economic and national-security problem sold to you from a CCP sponsored full stack provider, not a hobby problem. If you think the @FAANews 's $12 million is going to fix this, you're dreaming. I usually don't waste my time with the @FAADroneZone since they got #RID of Buzzy the Drone. Every time I start doing research for a story I dig up more nuggets lost to time. There are some pragmatic and viable solutions for safe airspace integration for the community and the regulator that went ignored. I guess everyone was happy with the junkets and letting the CCP take down our lunch counter and move it to China? dcabr.org.br/download/cursos…

Will the $12 million in @FAANews  research welfare be enough to pull ChurroDrone IOs batter out of the fryer? ChurroDrone IO CEO BJ Hipster is ready to cash in on his VC-funded, industry butt-smooching unicorn. Hes got his cut-and-paste waiver, paid for his hypothetical safety case, and an ex-administrator-blessed community-standard parachute. Will BJ come in for the big cinnamon-flavored score? @YouTube youtu.be/9Q7_XT6xPJE?si=x3Z_…
