"Let us remember: One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world." - Malala Yousafzai
On #NationalWritingDay we recognise the importance of the pen and writing. Writing is empowering: it is how we think, plan, connect and create.

Today we're celebrating #TECHOGNITION the national celebration of technical staff in schools and colleges.
Our amazing technicians provide essential support, but also go above and beyond - even setting up a live feed so our learners can see chicks hatching!

So proud of our two teams of learners who took part in the National Reading Champions Quiz regional heat today. 🤩📚
The competition was tough, but everyone did brilliantly and enjoyed the experience. We wish the winners all the best for the final in London in May. #NRCQuiz2025

Our three secondary schools hold the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks for good career guidance. Providing our learners with a range of career pathways, & the support to gain skills & realise their dreams, is essential. We know, you can't be what you can't see. #CareerOpportunities #NCW2025
What an inspiring visit from @DanFreedman99 this afternoon! Our learners were enthralled by his books & hearing about his experience of being an author. If only there was enough time for him to answer everyone's questions... We made time for a quick book signing though! #NCW2025
Forest School doesn't stop in all weathers - our learners love it - even cold days in February! 🥶
It teaches important life skills such as resilience, as well as practical skills. Here a learner is safely using a volcano kettle.

This sums up our values perfectly 👌

#ChildrensMentalHealthWeek
Our young people are more resilient than we give them credit for at times.
In a recent speech about not giving up, one learner stated:
"We need to unleash our unstoppable spirit, we need to persevere."
Good advice to us all! 💪💫

It's #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek and the theme is: Know Yourself, Grow Yourself.
One of our Year 6 learners embodies this sentiment stating, in a public speaking event, "when you speak up, you're not just helping yourself, you're inspiring others".
We are certainly #inspired 🌟
This week is #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek and we are absolutely thrilled to announce that we have been awarded Gold by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools. It's our 3 year reaccreditation, which demonstrates our continued commitment to mental health here.

Kindness was voted by children as the 2024 word of the year & this holds true with our values. It was also the theme of one of our Speech STARS in Year 6 who spoke about how "Kindness is a virtuous cycle that can create a ripple effect of positivity." #Kindness #KindnessMatters

During the last few weeks of term Year 7 learners raised a staggering £800 for Batley Food Bank, & whilst in Tesco buying our donations, we managed to get an additional £100 worth of supplies for @BatleyFoodBank
Community is key. #community #BatleyBrilliance
Our superhero volunteers chose a litter pick today - the last day of term - over hot chocolate round the tree in Forest School and they collected 3 bags of litter. Really well done, you deserve all those treats at the Trust Development Centre! #Believe #Achieve #SucceedTogether
