@UFCU of Austin, Texas, and @msufcu plan to combine in a deal that adds to the credit union industryβs growing wave of large mergers.
The combined institution will operate as University Federal Credit Union at the corporate level, while keeping the UFCU brand in Texas and MSUFCU in Michigan and Illinois. MSUFCU CEO April Clobes will lead the organization, with UFCU CEO Michael Crowl serving as president.
The deal is expected to close in summer 2027, pending regulatory approval. Until then, both credit unions will continue operating independently.
