Brothers and Sisters, Election Day is next Tuesday, November 3, and too much is at stake for us to sit this one out. Prop 45 is being sold as a way to lower costs, but there's nothing in the measure that guarantees a single dollar in savings for consumers.
Instead, it could cost state and local governments more than $100 million annually—taxpayer money that could fund public services and community needs—while taking away local communities' say in decisions about development, pollution, traffic, and public health.
As union members, we know that the best decisions are made when the people affected have a seat at the table. Stand with working families, protect local voices, and vote NO on Prop 45 on November 3.
