The King and Queen, alongside The Duke of Edinburgh, have attended the @Glasgow_2026 Opening Ceremony ahead of 11 days of sport which will see over 3,000 athletes from 74 nations and territories compete across 10 sports and six Para sports.

A busy first week in my new role. From conflict to climate, gender equality to AI, I’ve been constantly reminded of the breadth and urgency of the challenges the world faces, and the importance of nations coming together to solve them. It’s a privilege to represent the UK here.
