His Excellency, the President Dr. Emmerson D. Mnangagwa today commissioned the Oxygen Production Plant and a 140kV solar plant at Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital, marking a major milestone in enhancing health delivery in the country. The newly established medical oxygen production plant utilizes advanced pressure swing adsorption technology to generate up to 800 liters per day of high-purity medical-grade oxygen (+95%) directly from atmospheric air. Established through a strategic partnership between the Ministry of Health and Child Care, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and UNICEF, this facility efficiently supports supply chains across Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital and seven other district hospitals. Complementing this facility, the 140kV solar plant, installed by the Ministry of Health and Child Care in partnership with the Global Fund and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), covers 80 percent of the total hospital services and has been providing reliable backup power since the beginning of 2025. This power coverage extends across critical units including the Intensive Care Unit, Renal Unit, Operating Theatre, Maternity and Labour Ward, Kitchen, Laboratory, Pharmacy, X-ray, Casualty, Rehabilitation department, Paediatrics Ward, Administration and Out Patients Department. Beyond ensuring continuous service delivery during ZESA power outages, the plant provides significant benefits to the hospital by offering a highly cost-effective alternative to diesel generators while utilizing clean, user-friendly green energy. #HealthForAll

Better infrastructure means better opportunities for fishers. Through #ZRBF2, the newly built Kings Camp Cold Chain Facility in Kariba is helping 28 registered fishers aggregate their catch, improve storage and strengthen their bargaining power. By connecting fishers to larger markets, the initiative is supporting more commercially viable and resilient livelihoods.
