Great vibes at the EEH POACHED EGG PICKET LINE at Briq Cafe. STRIKE UPATE! Management have agreed to look at re-opening talks. Therefore, the strike will be temporarily paused from Monday. We are committed to dialogue, but if it doesn't work it will be back to the picket line.
How did the FAB Eastend Homes strikers mark over 70 days of strike action? With a fantastic ‘PIZZA PICKET’ at Pizza Union. Thanks to the supporters & tenants who brought solidarity & helped us to continue to the fight against fire & rehire – whilst snacking on delicious pizzas!
Our brilliant branch Young Member activists today co-hosted a lunch time event with the council’s Young Employees Network, which brought young people together to discuss why it is so important to join a union. Thanks to Marshall for cooking us a delicious curry lunch.
Thank you Camden UNISON 4 inviting the East End Homes strikers to your fab ‘Unite the Strikes’ Rally today outside Camden Town Hall. We stood in solidarity with Camden Traffic Wardens & Teaching Assistants striking for fair pay & presented them with a £200 strike fund donation.
Brilliant vibe at the 90th anniversary of the BATTLE OF CABLE STREET March on Sunday. The branch sent a large delegation – young members; retired members & all those in between. We marched together to commemorate this important day in East End working class history.
In the Town Hall today? Call by our YEAR OF GREEN ACTIVITY stall. After a searing hot summer find out about UNISON's campaign for a max temp at work, pick up the calendar of events that the union is running on climate justice topics & collect a packet of wildflower seeds.
East End Homes strikers - standing together and standing strong after 50 incredible days of strike action. And there’s more strike days still to come….
The lunch time picket party to mark 50 DAYS OF STRIKE ACTION at East End Homes was sizzling with solidarity... & lip smacking dumplings. Thanks to everyone who made the event so successful. The strikers are standing strong against the bosses shabby treatment. The strike goes on!!
Thank you @ApsanaBegumMP for highlighting the disgraceful behaviour of East End Homes bosses ( Daniel Killian CEO & Jacqui Bateson Board Chair) who are threatening to fire & rehire housing workers to impose an inferior pension scheme. No to Fire & Rehire! The strike goes on!
Fire and rehire is unacceptable anywhere, including at East End Homes where @unisontheunion members have had to go on strike.
My question to the Leader of the House:
Great to welcome our support staff members from Tower Hamlets SEN schools to the Town Hall today for a first steps into organising ‘summer school’ training day. Brilliant discussions & lots of enthusiasm for getting organised & active. We are definitely organising to win!
Fantastic ‘East End Homes 30 Days of Strike Action’ lunch today to mark 30 DAYS OF STRIKE ACTION.Strikers & supporters mingled over a delicious buffet feast from Biang Biang Restaurant. But the message 2 CEO Daniel Killian was serious: No fire & rehire & stop the pensions theft.
Lots of familiar faces on the Retired Members 'Rebel Women' heritage walk & summer social. The walk ended at the UNISON bench in Victoria Park, which has a plaque commemorating the lives of 2 Branch Chairs. unison.org.uk/get-involved/r…
East End Homes – How low can you go? Posting on your website that the E14 Housing office is closed because of strike action, when residents & staff know it's been shut since Sept 2025 AND you have brought in agency workers to cover for strikers. Disgraceful – the strike goes on!!
Flashback to Saturday 25 July, when 150,000 people marched through central London for the annual Trans+ Pride demo. Always the best, placards, outfits, chants and vibe at this annual demonstration to demand Trans liberation. Of course the Tower Hamlets Branch banner was there.

The 90th anniversary commemoration of the Battle of Cable Street takes place on Sunday 4th Oct, with a march from the Town Hall to a rally in St Georges Church gardens. The branch will be sending a delegation. All members, their families & friends are welcome to march with us.
The amazing East End Homes strikers are taking the fight against ‘Fire & Rehire’ into the community. 4000 EEH properties will be leafletted over the next week to give tenants info about the dispute. Resident support has been fantastic, with many offering to help.
