Our 2026 Theme:
We are stronger when we move together.
Under Integration for Sustainability, we’re breaking silos, uniting voices, and leading an SRHR/HIV response that is youth-centred, inclusive, and built to last.
The future is integrated and youth-led.
#Inter4Sustain
In schools, prevention education empowers young people to make informed choices.
Partnerships with youth-led organisations like @UNYPA1 and @MNYPA1 can bring accurate information, support and services closer to students.
#WhenYouthLead #ForYouthByYouth #INTER4SUSTAIN
Integrated services are key to ensuring young people can access comprehensive care under one roof connecting HIV, SRHR, mental health and psychosocial support in a youth-friendly, confidential and stigma-free environment.

📍Rubirizi District
Protecting human rights starts with listening to communities and holding duty bearers accountable.
UGANET is conducting a semester dialogue with duty bearers and the Human Rights Committee in Ryeru Sub-county, Rubirizi District, to address pressing community concerns, including breaches of confidentiality by health workers, child neglect and abuse.
The dialogue has also highlighted a condom stockout in the district, raising concerns about access to essential sexual and reproductive health commodities.
Through these discussions, UGANET is creating space for duty bearers and community representatives to identify gaps in service delivery, strengthen accountability and explore solutions that protect the rights, dignity and well-being of community members.

Youth-friendly health services should be accessible, welcoming and free from stigma to help young people prevent HIV, STIs, unintended pregnancy and substance-related harm while accessing care with dignity.

Uganda’s young people deserve more than awareness.
They deserve access, choice and care without judgment.
With adolescent pregnancy at 24%, strengthening youth-friendly services is urgent.

This Week at UGANET | Strengthening Community Action Through Data and Reflection
This week, UGANET continued its field activities in Keri, Oraba, Lobule and Midia, conducting data validation and cleaning to address inconsistencies and variations and improve data quality.
In Lobule, our team, alongside the Gender Officer, also participated in the monthly SASA! meeting. The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on progress during the Awareness Phase, share implementation challenges and discuss recommendations for strengthening community engagement.
Participants also used power posters to bring discussions about power dynamics to life, encouraging reflection and dialogue as part of the Awareness Phase.
Through these activities, UGANET continues to support evidence informed programming and community led efforts to address gender inequality and prevent violence.

This Week at UGANET | Strengthening Accountability and Coordination Through URRI
On Oct. 21-22, 2026, UGANET participated in the URRI Project Annual Implementation Monitoring Committee (IMC) meeting at Bomah Hotel in Gulu City.
The meeting brought together the two consortia led by Save the Children International and the Danish Refugee Council, alongside representatives from government ministries, the Office of the Prime Minister, implementing partners, district technical and political leaders, and the Royal Danish Embassy, the project’s funding partner.
The meeting provided a platform to track URRI’s results, review implementation progress and agree on priorities for the next phase. It also reinforced government ownership and leadership while ensuring that project interventions remain aligned with national policies.
UGANET’s participation reflects the importance of coordinated, accountable and government-led approaches to delivering meaningful results for communities.

This Week at UGANET | Tracking Progress in the Fight Against GBV
UGANET joined gender-based violence (GBV) actors from about seven districts for the Spotlight 2.0 Joint Programme regional results-tracking meeting, bringing together District Community Development Officers (DCDOs), District Health Officers (DHOs), District Education Officers (DEOs) and civil society organizations.
With support from UN Women, district representatives are sharing progress and results from partners’ interventions under the Spotlight Initiative to end gender-based violence, while reflecting on achievements and areas that need further action.
During the meeting, the Tororo District Community Development Officer recognized UGANET’s contribution as a partner in efforts to prevent and respond to GBV.
Such engagements provide an opportunity for partners and district leaders to review progress, share experiences and strengthen coordination toward ending violence against women and girls.

Living with HIV doesn’t mean putting other health concerns aside. Breast health matters.
Know your body, get regular checkups, notice changes, and seek care early.

Hello,sweet Friday,
we’re wrapping up the week!
~When the drums sound,we dance to the tune.
The same applies to mental health,
~When someone reaches out, let’s listen, offer support, and remind them they don’t have to face it alone.
This weekend support someone's well-being ❤
Health means more than viral suppression.
For young women living with HIV, comprehensive care includes breast health: know your body, watch for changes, get checked, and seek care early.
Your whole health deserves whole care.
