🇬🇷 #PS53 IHR denounced violence against migrants by Greek authorities. They urged #Greece to ensure that all sites of detention comply with the Nelson Mandela Rules and to establish an independent border monitoring mechanism.

🇬🇷 #PS53 @IntersexG advocated for the rights of intersex persons. They called on #Greece to implement Law 4958/2022 prohibiting non-consensual medical intervention on intersex children, and ensure the participation of intersex persons in policy design.

🇭🇺 #PS53 Hungarian Helsinki Committee raised concerns over human rights protection, access to asylum, and detention and ill-treatment. They urged #Hungary to strengthen independent institutions and oversight and ensure effective access to asylum.

🇭🇺 #PS53 Cordelia Foundation raised concerns over healthcare for migrants and asylum seekers in #Hungary. They urged Hungary to establish mandatory vulnerability assessments, ensure access to essential healthcare, and guarantee independent monitoring of detention.

🇭🇺 #PS53 Hàttèr Society denounced provisions of the Child Protection Law that prohibit minors from accessing content on homosexuality and gender diversity. They called on #Hungary to ensure child protection is not used as a pretext for restricting LGBTQI persons' rights.

🇭🇺 #PS53 UNICEF Hungary raised concerns over family separation, inequalities in education, and child mental health. They urged #Hungary to strengthen child protection, adopt a national desegregation strategy, and expand mental health services for children and adolescents.

🇸🇷 #PS53 Suriname Men United discussed the rights of LGBTQI+ persons, recommending that #Suriname enact legislation prohibiting discrimination against LGBTQI+ persons and amend the Civil Code to permit same-sex marriage.

🇸🇷 #PS53 The Coalition of Surinamese NGOs advocated for the rights of Indigenous peoples. They urged #Suriname to recognise the rights of the Kaliña and Lokono peoples and to adopt a binding FPIC framework.

🇸🇷 #PS53 Citizens Initiative for Participation and Good Governance raised concerns over the Constitutional Court, SRHR, and violence against women. They urged #Suriname to restore the Court, decriminalize abortion, and strengthen protection and support for GBV survivors.

🇼🇸 #PS53 Samoa Family Health Association raised concerns over access to sexual and reproductive health services and education. They urged #Samoa to adopt a fully funded SRH policy and strengthen inclusive Family Life Education, particularly for rural and outer-island communities.

🇹🇹 #PS53 CANARI advocated for the right to a clean and healthy environment. They urged #TrinidadAndTobago to recognise the right in domestic law and publish a National Implementation Plan for the Escazú Agreement.

🇻🇨 #PS53 RedRoot SVG Inc. raised awareness on sexual violence and discrimination. They recommended that #SVG amend the Criminal Code to establish a gender-neutral definition of rape and adopt anti-discrimination legislation prohibiting #SOGIESC discrimination.

🇻🇨 #PS53 @JeshuaBardoo spoke about the rights of LGBTQI+ persons and access to justice, urging #SVG to repeal sections 146 and 148 of the Criminal Code, which criminalise same-sex relations, and to estalish a NHRI in line with the UN Paris Principles.

🇹🇿 #PS53 @monnyneme0305 spoke on girls' rights, urging #Tanzania to set the minimum age for marriage at 18 and ensure that adolescent mothers are able to re-enter school by codifying their right to education in the Tanzania Education Act.

🇹🇿 #PS53 @changetanzania denounced the use of torture against #HumanRightsDefenders in #Tanzania. They recommended that the Government ratify the UN Convention Against Torture and end impunity for police operations that target defenders.

🇹🇿 #PS53 LHRC advocated for the rights of persons with albinism. They urged #Tanzania to strenghten measures to prevent and prosecute violence, namely through the full implementation of the National Action Plan on the Rights and Welfare of Persons with Albinism.

🇹🇿 #PS53 @thrdcoalition discussed freedom of expression and the safety of journalists and CSOs. They called on #Tanzania to repeal restrictive provisions of the Media Services Act and to ensure a safe and enabling environment for journalists and CSOs.
