This week, students from Crespi Carmelite High School spent two days giving back at Union Rescue Mission, and their hard work made a lasting impact! From preparing and serving meals to cleaning dishes, sweeping and mopping, and moving furniture, these young men rolled up their sleeves and stepped in wherever help was needed. But their service was about more than completing tasks. Every meal served, every floor cleaned, and every helping hand extended was an act of compassion for our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Students from Crossroads School went above and beyond in serving our community today! Half of the group jumped in to help in our kitchen, serving lunch, preparing dinner, washing dishes, and pitching in wherever help was needed. Every single day, a delivery from @portosbakery arrives at our door. Over a year, that adds up to more than $1 million in pastries. Our CEO, Mark Hood, likes to joke that we’re the only place in LA County where you don’t have to wait in line for Porto’s. For 135 years, we have supported Angelenos in need.
