A physician’s ability to help a patient depends on more than what happens in the exam room. 🩺 While working in Los Angeles clinics and hospitals, Albert Li saw how transportation, insurance and other barriers could keep patients from receiving care. Those experiences led him to pursue training on both sides of healthcare. Li is the first USC Price Master of Health Administration (MHA) student to simultaneously pursue a medical degree at the @KECKSchool_USC. He hopes to bring physicians and administrators closer together by understanding both patient needs and the systems that shape their care. 🔗 Read how Li is preparing to connect clinical care with health administration: priceschool.usc.edu/news/mas…

Film tax credits promise jobs and investment. But what do taxpayers get in return? As Illinois expands incentives to attract film and television productions, USC Price Professor Michael Thom questions whether the public benefits justify the costs. “The general rule of thumb is that for every $1 taxpayers give Hollywood, taxpayers get back 10 to 20 cents,” Thom says. “Who would invest their money in something with that kind of a return on investment?” Read the reporting from @nprillinois: nprillinois.org/illinois/202…
