btw on the prayer card in the pilot there's an angel welcoming a human figure into the divine realm. and in the original painting, the angel leads humanity through the darkness/the biblical wilderness. the show repeatedly implies Jackie as some kind of guardian angel ("guide us")

I strongly disagree, I actually think this is one of the highest compliments Jackie gives any of them. She is terrified of what other people think of her to the point shes shoved herself into a prison of expectations that is poisoning everhthing she actually cares about.

The thing with Shauna and Jackie in Yellowjackets is that I think it’s a mistake to view them as entirely separate entities in the first place. Narratively-speaking they’re of a piece, inextricably entwined. 9 and 6: the same number inverted like on a playing card.

Sometimes it hits me what an incredible feat Akilah stitching up Van’s face was. Miraculous recovery aside, Akilah having to do that on little to no sleep, exhausted from the long trek back, traumatised from the wolf attack, and with no formal medical experience is insane
