Are the UK people going to be fooled by the hapless Burnham 'vibes offensive'?
He is clearly planning an imminent General Election. #bbcbreakfast #r4today
Like the failed Starmer, the progressive media are not scrutinising Burnham, we saw how that went. Starmer was so bad, the Labour Party had to throw him and Reeves overboard, in two years.
Be very clear, Burnham will have a hard left agenda, which like in France, will destroy the UK economy, in short order.
A Taxing Dilemma.
How to keep banks in London and keep them employing humans #bbcpm #bbcnews
catherinemcbride.substack.co…
It seems crazy that we tax businesses for employing people. We need to make employing people in the UK as cheap as possible; if not, the welfare bill will balloon. Businesses not only pay taxes on their profits, but by employing people, they also help reduce the welfare bill. Barclays will not be the last company to announce it is replacing staff with AI. Cutting employers’ NIC and unnecessary regulations will help businesses keep employing people.
Many people don’t realize how absurd European taxation is. Let’s take a look, shall we? A French employee, let’s call him Nicolas earns €100k gross per year, this would be nothing special in the US, but with €100k Nicolas is in the top 2% in France.
First, after income tax and contributions, his net is roughly €64,250 a year. His employer pays another ~€42,000, for a total cost of ~€142,000. This means 55% in taxes and contributions, and only 45% for Nicolas.
Second, when Nicolas wants to buy anything he pays another 20% in VAT.
Third, when Nicolas tries to save for his retirement, his interest income is taxed at 31.4%, not on his real interest income, inflation is taxed as well.
Then, when Nicolas dies his children face up to 45% inheritance tax.
If you think that’s a lot, that’s not everything. France has 348 different taxes and levies, basically taxing everything that moves.
Isn’t it entertaining that the French left seriously demands even higher taxes? In which parallel mental universe do these people live? Get a real job if you want to contribute to society.

Analysis by economists at the Adam Smith Institute found that the average household will pay £206.50 extra on gas and electricity, £36 extra on water, £112.19 more on food and
£140.64 more on fuel in 2027.
So while millions of cash strapped households have to somehow find an extra £500 to pay for all this, Andy Burnham tells us to look on Google maps to find the cheapest price on fuel. He’s tinkering while Britain goes broke.

Can someone please explain why Germany spent €400 billion on its energy transition? Clearly it wasn’t to save the climate.
This chart is simply mind-blowing. It’s a perfect visualization of the German “green” energy transition though. Let’s take a look.
1. Germany increased its installed energy generation capacity since 2000 by a whopping 120%, yet German electricity generation fell by 13%. Isn’t that a paradox? The answer is simple, renewables do not generate electricity constantly, as required for an industrial nation, so they need parallel energy-generating infrastructure, e.g., gas. That’s the main reason countries that moved to renewables, like Germany or the UK, have the highest energy prices for industry and households.
2. Based on fairly conservative estimates, Germany has spent about €400 billion on this “green” energy transition, an eye-watering amount.
3. Higher energy prices have made German energy-intensive industries uncompetitive. Industrial production imploded, and countless well-paid jobs disappeared. This explains the reduction in energy demand and generation.
4. By shutting clean nuclear plants while keeping coal and gas, German energy production generates about 10 times more emissions than France’s. You read that right: 10 times more. If Germany had switched off coal power plants first instead of nuclear, by now it would have avoided CO2 emissions equivalent to Berlin’s emissions over almost a century. Keep that in mind next time you chew on a paper drinking straw.
5. Worse still, production moved from Germany to Asia, where the same products generate far more emissions in manufacturing and shipping. A Chinese-built car shipped to Europe causes about 70% more emissions than one built in Germany, cement production causes twice as many.
Honestly, can you name a bigger absurdity than the German “green” energy transition? They spent a fortune to ruin their industry and hurt the climate badly. Isn’t it hilarious that German greens seriously claim other countries will follow the German way? In which parallel universe do these people live?

Rate France, Spain, Italy, Germany, the UK, and the US on the four stages of the Yuri Bezmenov ideological subversion scale. #bbcnews #bbcpm Explain your assessments and estimate when each will most likely reach its next stage.
France at crisis level
Replying to @MichaelAArouet
Bezmenov's stages: 1 demoralization (15-20 yrs), 2 destabilization (2-5 yrs), 3 crisis (weeks), 4 normalization.
France: late 2/early 3 (riots, debt, institutional strain). Next likely within 1-2 yrs.
Spain: mid-2 (protests, snap election). Next 2-4 yrs.
Italy: early-mid 2 (stable govt, some unrest). Next 3-5 yrs.
Germany: mid-2 (AfD surge, economic pressure). Next 2-4 yrs.
UK: mid-2 (political shifts). Next 3-5 yrs.
US: late 1/early 2 (polarization). Next 5+ yrs.
Assessments are interpretive of trends in cohesion and institutions; timelines speculative.

8 good reasons why Burnham urgently needs to bin the Conversion Practices Bill #bbcnews #bbcpm open.substack.com/pub/jamese…
The Bill is unfeasibly bad law; it will intensify pressure for still further advances in trans rights; support for the Bill is no more than a useless drag anchor from his political past; the Bill is now completely irrelevant to his emerging programme of wider substantive reforms; and, finally, the correct decision here will demonstrate the right level of realpolitik required for high office. This is Burnham’s very own ‘tanks on the lawn’ moment. Because the brutal truth here is that trans needs Andy more than Andy needs trans.
