🚨BREAKING Deal agreed to end bins strike after 15 months!
It is an absolute abhorrence that this deal has been blocked not just once but twice by unelected unaccountable commissioners and officers at Birmingham City Council.
Congratulations to the Unite members who stood firm throughout, backed by their union.
“The move made today by the leader of the council is a vindication of the bin workers’ struggle for a decent deal” @UniteSharon

📢Unite WIN!
The Apache recognition agreement is a great result for Unite in the offshore sector. It shows that Unite is continuing to deliver better jobs, pay and conditions for our critical oil and gas workers who are essential to the nation’s energy security and supply.

Over 400 workers at University of Strathclyde are striking this week in a push back against job cuts and a lack of consultation on organisational changes - that means cleaners, lab techs, estates and security staff are now out on the picket line 📣
In December, it was revealed that the university is set to slash 76 full-time posts, as a result of a £35m funding gap.
Meanwhile, the former principal and vice-chancellor received a remuneration package of £428,000 in 2025 - with a further £3.6 million divided between the university executive team.
Strathclyde University remains in a fundamentally healthy financial position with £478.4m of its net assets being “unrestricted”.
With millions in reserves, there is no reason the University should jump to attack its lowest paid workers.

ExxonMobil’s decision to close Mossmorran ahead of schedule is a disgrace and a betrayal of its workers. This is an enormously profitable multi-billion pound company and this unnecessary decision will have a devastating impact on the local community in #Fife.

🪧St Enoch @vuecinemas strikes intensify
VUE is a very profitable company and can easily bring this dispute to an end by agreeing to pay workers fairly.
@unitetheunion completely supports this group of young, low paid and precarious workers in their next phase of strikes. 1/2

🚨 Stealth tax on workers means everyday people pay the price again
On the fundamental issues of who pays for the crisis and the investment required to back British industry, the wrong decisions are being made. #Budget2026 1/4 ⤵️

💼 Stealth taxes are workers paying the price, this is the wrong choice.
The chancellor has picked a side. Health workers, engineers, and tanker drivers will pay by stealth taxes, while city bankers and billionaires are unscathed.
