UnityPDX is going on pause for the foreseeable future until someone else can take it over. Monthly meetups are canceled until further notice. Attached is the message sent to all UnityPDX Meetup members. --Dylan (@MBoffin)
After a summer break, we usually start back up in September with monthly meetups. However, this year, I'm sorry to say, I'm putting UnityPDX on pause until someone else can take it over. Why is that? I don't feel good continuing to organize meetups for Unity. I don't feel it's productive to go into *all* the details why in public, but I will mention two recent things that put it over the edge into a final decision of, "No, sorry, I can't support this anymore." One was recent news about Unity's work with the military, and the other was recent news about Unity's patents on ECS. There's usually a lot of nuance to any situation, and I'm sure these two situations are no exception. But rather than performing some kind of mental gymnastics around it, I've decided to just put things on pause.
