He was 80 years old and just picking up his amps from the repair shop.
Bob Wood plugged in his 1968 Epiphone Riviera to test them at a Nashville shop in 2014, played "Bésame Mucho," and a tech grabbed a camera.
Back in 1968, he'd turned down Sam Phillips' offer to play sessions at Sun Records so he could raise his nine kids.
Bob passed in 2022 at 88. He played to the end.

The “Prima Ballerina” fountain is located in Kościuszko Square in the town of Poddębice, Poland. This extraordinary work of art was created by sculptor Małgorzata Chodakowska, who is renowned for combining bronze and water as equally important artistic materials.
The installation features three slender ballerina figures, with water flowing from their waists to form delicate, flowing skirts that appear to billow gracefully in the breeze.

Trump has apparently been sitting down with Putin’s envoy to discuss a magnificent agreement that could reshape the future of Ukraine and all of Europe.
How terribly exciting. There is just one rather enormous problem.
Europe belongs to Europeans. Ukraine belongs to Ukrainians. Neither is available for negotiation between two gentlemen in Washington.
If Trump and Putin genuinely believe they can sit around a table dividing Europe into convenient little spheres of influence without European consent, they are wasting their time. Europe will never agree to it.
This is not 1945. There will be no new Yalta, no carving up sovereign nations, and certainly no Russian veto over Europe’s future.
⚡️ Trump admits he met Putin's envoy Dmitriev — and announces a massive "beautiful" deal
It will affect not only Ukraine but all of Europe. And according to Trump, everyone will be thrilled.
Yesterday, Putin's envoy Kirill Dmitriev arrived at the White House for a reception hosted by Melania Trump. It turns out he later met her husband, the US president, too.
“It’s going to be a big agreement, and it’s going to involve more than Ukraine,” Trump told reporters. “I could even say it might involve all of Europe. It’s going to be a big, beautiful agreement. Everyone's going to be thrilled.”

Glastonbury Tor - Avalon mist.
Here is yet another image from May 2024. The Tor rose above a sea of fog while light poured through the old arch, casting long shadows down the hill. For a few quiet minutes it felt half in this world, half in the other.

I'm quite frankly showing off here, with not just one but two gates. This lovely path leads into the peace of Tideswell Dale, surrounded on all sides by steep limestone cliffs and now full of the most stunning autumnal colours. Who could resist the click and creak at the start of this walk?!

I don’t know what happened with Russell Brand. He denies criminality.
But I DO understand why women might not report rape to the police

Trump is so tone deaf!
After Americans came out against him in huge numbers last night, he's holding a press conference to talk about how great the marble is in his new ballroom.
He's not talking about affordability, exiting the war, or stopping his corruption. He's talking about MARBLE!
We’re losing the ability to own anything. Music, movies, software, iCloud storage, printers, cars… everything is becoming a subscription. You can’t buy something once n own it. You pay indefinitely for permission to use it. And we call this progress?

Oh that’s why they’re building all these data centers. It’s started to make sense. They’re moving away from digital ram/chips. If they do this then they can charge you to use your computer and lock down your entire OS for something you physically own. So is there really a chip shortage or them creating a problem to get rid of physical components to make us pay to use our shit?

This sociopath has the audacity to claim that we should all drink less water, use less power, and consume less RAM for our laptops so that his pyramid company could build more Datacenters to sell his AI slop to nobody while his agents hack banks and companies at will!
Jail him!
Sam Altman says its bad that everyone's personal computers are using the world's limited supply of memory chips.
"It’s quite terrible to have everybody have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAMs sitting in their own computer, and being used 5% of the time. Like, you want maximum utilization."

Beavers will return to the waters around Loch Ness 500 years after the last sighting. 💚
The Ness Beaver Project will reintroduce at least 15 beaver family groups around Loch Ness over the next three years, with the first reintroductions potentially happening as early as next month.
This is a Trees for Life and Beaver Trust project.

If the world is getting a little too much may I recommend the inexplicably obsolete word ‘latibulating’, from the 17th century? To latibulate is to find a cosy corner somewhere and hide in it.

I'm glad "Nationalize Starlink" is gaining acceptance. Without NASA, these technologies would not exist, yet one naturalized U.S. citizen has become a trillionaire off a half-century of federal investments and now deploys that same tech against America's interests.

Our new report @TheAtlantic investigates how @elonmusk went from supporting Ukraine to coordinating with Moscow.
