As an Illini fan..making the playoff is what I want. Better chance playing a team in our weight class. Odds are slim to what you are saying . 40 million dollar roster vs 15-18. Wins are valuable for a team like Illinois to make the playoff.

Mizzou is 35-12 the last four seasons, playing in the SEC. Notre Dame is 40-8. I don't know that Mizzou is an easier game. I do know it's a much duller one. Also, can we just have a normal convo in a thread without every reply being a quote tweet?

If someone can prove beating Notre Dame or even being competitive with Notre Dame change recruiting, I’d love to hear it. If you wanna be really good, you better get money like Indiana has to spend.

In boxing terms, I would rather play someone more in our class. In a 24 team playoff, we still have a very small margin for error and playing an elite team like that diminishes that possibility. I’m still a fan who values wins.

I can't believe there are Illini fans saying they'd rather play Mizzou (Mizzou?) than Notre Dame (Notre Dame!) in football. But to each his own, I suppose.
