UPDATED NOTE: All the photos I post here are shot by me. Photography is my hobby, not my job, thus my partially anonymous profile (& I'm well aware of cancel culture). I make (shoot) real photos with real cameras (currently, Nikon Z8, Nikon Zf & Panasonic Lumix G9 II). I travel several times a year, so there will be a wide variety of locations & subjects.
I don't 'specialize' in any one type of photography. I'm more of a generalist & will make photos of anything I find interesting or beautiful. I don't create AI images & don't us AI for imaging. I do occasionally (rarely) use an AI assist tool in Adobe Lightroom while editing to remove a stray electric pole, wire or construction cone, etc in a shot, but that's still a real photo. Nearly EVERY photographer does that. It's not big secret.
As I mentioned, I'm well aware of cancel culture, so for now, I'll stay partially anonymous because I don't want people that don't like my comments trying to talk to my employer (but just wait until I retire😉...it won't be a concern of mine anymore). I support free speech & your right so say whatever you want to. Everyone else should also support my right to free speech.
There are tons of garbage accounts here on X, stealing other people's photos and posting them as their own or with no credit. I'm NOT one of those accounts. I am the creator/photographer/owner of ever image I post. I block all the fake accounts that try to follow me & you should too (accounts that try to be something they are not...like someone saying in the profile they're based in the U.S. or Europe, when they're really in Nigeria).
Pardon any typos if there are any that I overlook or have to go back & correct before the 1 hour edit window closes. I sometimes use speech to text conversion to write, for convenience (if using my phone to post), so in that case I'm more likely to overlook a mistake. Thanks for stopping by (if you're a real person and not a scam/fake/catfishing/or other garbage account). 😃😅
I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but...maybe we need something nice to see / look forward to. Christmas, log cabin, lights.
2008 - With my old Nikon D700 (wish I had kept it) with a Tamron 28-300mm VC lens (mediocre overall and slow as cold molasses spool up of the image stabilization, but excellent optically).
Philae Temple in Aswan, Egypt. There are so many amazing ancient sites I wasn't familiar with in Egypt. This was one of them. It's on an island and you take a short boat ride over to it. The federal police officer that was with us on this whole trip has a MP5 under his jacket ;-) I'm glad he didn't need it. 😅 Also, in all these places, every corner you turn and everywhere you look, there's something amazing or interesting to see. From my 2024 trip. Nikon Z8 with Z 24-120mm f/4 S lens.

I just heard it's National Bison Day. This big boy was slowly walking down the road (being polite to stay in the correct lane for his direction of travel). Hayden Valley in Yellowstone - 2017, Panasonic GH5 with Olympus 12-100mm f/4 Pro lens.
Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse - The House On The Rock - Spring Green, WI. 2020 - Fujifilm X-T4 with 16-80mm. And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
This is Smoky. For a few years, he had been showing up outside my house and sometimes eating the food I put out for the other stray cat I have been feeding. Mostly he just hung around though and I thought he belonged to someone else because he always looked well cared for and healthy. Then on Christmas Day a few years ago, I stepped outside to look in the cat house that I had for the stray cat because it was so cold and I was hoping the stray was in there. Well, Smoky was in there. The temperature was in the low teens and would be single digits Fahrenheit the next morning. I noticed he had a huge abscess on his face near his left ear, and he was very weak and looked horrible. I assume he got in a fight with another critter and it got infected. So, I took him down to the emergency vet clinic and $1500 later on Christmas Day, he became my cat. 😅😊. I honestly thought he was going to die because he looks so terrible and weak. I do think he would've died if he had to stay out there that night in his condition. His left ear was a huge mess and I thought they were going to have to remove much of it but today it just has a tiny bald spot with no hair, I couldn't believe how well he healed. So now every morning I get up he meets me near the bed and talks up a storm. I hear it's normal for Siamese to "talk" a lot. He sure does! He has a very sweet and gentle personality, but he's very skittish about any strange noises or anything different he sees you carrying in your hand. I believe this is what they call an applehead, Siamese or actually a real Siamese, before they started breeding them to get those strange looking skinny heads. This boy is beautiful. 😊
The rental for my Utah trip this summer. I wasn't expecting to get a full size heavy duty truck, but other than something else totally inappropriate, this is what they had available :-) Hanksville, UT - 2026 - OM System OM-1 II with Olympus 12-100mm f/4 lens
Sunrise - Athens, Greece...waiting at the dock for the ferry to Hydra. Hydra is a car-free island. They had donkeys/mules/horses to carry around supplies. That also made for nice photos (the load carrying critters :-)). 2022 - Nikon Z7 with Z 24-200mm lens
This is why I love grasses. Stop and look at the details around you. There's more to see. It's just a simple grass in the field, but it's amazing. Very reliable, resilient and very common, but also very pretty. 2020 - Olympus E-M1 III with Olympus 75mm f/1.8 lens (150mm FF equiv) - the bokeh monster :-).
Hartwell Tavern - Minute Man National Historical Park. Walking the battle road on a nice autumn day where the American Revolution began was very relaxing and peaceful. 2013 - Fujifilm X100S
My Pin Oak is changing.
Nikon Z8 / Z 105mm f/2.8 Marco lens (maybe should have used a CPL filter to remove the reflections on the leaves)
My favorite scene right now in my garden. Oakleaf hydrangea changing colors flanked by two different dogwoods, one on fire (red) and one slowing changing.
Nikon Zf with Z 35mm f/1.4 lens
When Santa was locked away behind glass and had to talk to the kids via the drive-thru mic/speakers. 🫤
2020 - Nikon Z5
