We at @utahemergency, the coordinator for Great Utah ShakeOut, agree with these great tips to help children prepare for and cope with an earthquake. We want to add a reminder to Tip #1 that kids should NOT crawl under their beds during an earthquake. To that point, see Tip #4.

Following our #ShakeOut drill today, our DEM team grabbed their disaster kits, evacuated the building, took roll call, and texted our contacts. How did you participate in Utah’s largest earthquake drill of the year?
Well done, Chief!
Today, @slcpd participated in the @UtahShakeOut. This is an greater reminder because 90% of Utah’s population lives in active earthquake zones. We should all be ready for earthquakes and prepared to protect ourselves and loved ones. #slc #slcpd #SaltLakeCity #greatshakeout

Today I participated in the @UtahShakeOut. We all must get better prepared for major earthquakes and practice how to protect ourselves when they happen. The purpose of the ShakeOut is to help us do both!
The Great Utah ShakeOut is now.
Drop, cover and hold on for one minute.
It’s what you were supposed to do during the Magna earthquake last year. 😉
