A year ago, in January 2025, my second book Eminent Distorians: Twists and Truths in Bharat’s History was released. With Mahadev’s blessings and your immense love, it has been a remarkable journey. The book has not only sold well but, more importantly, sparked a much-needed discourse on how Bharat’s history has long been distorted. What gives me even greater satisfaction is seeing the term “distorians” entering popular conversation for our so-called “eminent historians.” And now, one year later, I am delighted to share that the Hindi edition is here — Prakhyat Galpkar. The title, beautifully coined by its translator Arun Tiwari, captures the spirit of the original. Arun ji has poured his heart into ensuring that the essence, intensity, and intent of the English version resonate just as powerfully in Hindi. My heartfelt thanks to my publisher, @praveenBlu ji, and the entire team at @BluOneInk for their unwavering support. As the book is available on #Amazon (amazon.in/dp/9365477328) on preorder, I seek your blessings and encouragement once again. Support this book — not merely because it carries my name, but because it is a sincere effort to reclaim and restore the true history of Bharat. Looking forward to your continued love and support. 🙏 #newbookrelease #books #EminentDistorians #PrakhyatGalpkar #newbookalert

Terrible memory is fine, but selective memory isn’t, #Quraishi SIR. If political proximity makes #GyaneshKumar suspect today, why did similar concerns surrounding #NavinChawla not provoke an equally forceful public response from SY Quraishi then? It’s tough to be India. When China began its rapid economic ascent in the 1990s and 2000s, it benefitted from an unusually favourable global environment. By contrast, India’s attempt to transform into a leading global power faces a far tougher climb and five structural headwinds. I explain in my latest. firstpost.com/opinion/no-tai…

Former CEC @DrSYQuraishi lavished praise on #CEC Gyanesh Kumar in 2024 when Kumar was appointed EC. Today Quraishi says Gyanesh Kumar was never fit for the job. Between the lies lie a chasm of chichanery Quraishi will find hard to live down, writes @Utpal_kumar1 firstpost.com/opinion/terrib…

Terrible memory is fine, but selective memory isn’t, Quraishi SIR A former Chief Election Commissioner ought to know that credibility, like the electoral process itself, depends on consistency, fairness and impartiality, writes @Utpal_Kumar1

"He worked alongside Chawla. He continued in office when Chawla became CEC. Yet, there is no comparably prominent public record of Quraishi mounting the kind of campaign against Chawla’s alleged political proximity that he has now launched against Kumar." writes @Utpal_Kumar1 firstpost.com/opinion/terrib…

The former Chief Election Commissioner has called the entire electoral exercise illegal and sought its reversal. But here, too, his position seems selective, and worse inconsistent.

Watching Quraishi launch an offensive against the SIR, one suspects that his problem goes beyond a “terrible memory”. This is the case of selective memory. And this is a far more troubling affliction, especially for someone who once headed the country’s Election Commission.

The #liberal silence, and in some cases defence, of the #SharjeelImam's statement and also #Saudi #execution, remind us of what Howard Jacobson calls “the #Chomsky but”. Jacobson says, “Let me remind you how the Chomsky ‘but’ operates. ‘The attack on the Twin Towers was an atrocity,’ you concede, ‘but…’ And here you insert whichever qualifier takes your fancy. The attack on the Twin Towers was an atrocity, ‘but’ George Bush is a shit. Or, how about, gunning down the staff of #CharlieHebdo was an atrocity, ‘but’ #Israel kills journalists in #Gaza. Would anyone say that? Unless I dreamt it, Noam Chomsky just has.” My article on Why ‘liberals’ never tire of romancing Islamists in @firstpost

From the Iranian Revolution to the Charlie Hebdo controversy, the Left-‘liberal’-Islamist collaboration has repeatedly exposed its contradictions. Those who claim moral courage often retreat when speaking out carries a cost. Like Radek’s invisible policemen, the realities they choose not to see remain in plain sight. @Utpal_Kumar1 firstpost.com/opinion/kiss-o…

Karl Radek, a prominent Soviet revolutionary, once quipped that as a Party member, he was not supposed to see the police in the Soviet Union. Today’s ‘liberals’ seem to be having their own Radek moment. The execution of a Bangladeshi man and woman in Saudi Arabia for kissing inside a mosque in Mecca has drawn little outrage from those who routinely champion liberal values.
