Image Management and Over-Functioning
"I wanted our church to be seen in a very particular light..."
Trying to control how your church is perceived is not only not possible but also leads to unhealthy boundaries and burnout.
Something New Is Possible.
Here’s a question worth sitting with.
When conflict shows up in your community, what happens? Do people lean in, or quietly pull away?
Attachment theory gives us language for that. Story gives us a way to rewrite it. And the way of Jesus gives us a place to grow into something braver.
In this four-week live immersion with Jessie Cruickshank, we’ll look at risk and tribe, liminality, and what it takes to build brave cultures together.
It begins October 29th. Learn more and register here: eventbrite.com/e/emotionally…

Is a Painless Community Possible?
"I told myself this will be a church that never hurts anybody ever again. No one will get hurt here like I got hurt...
But that's impossible."
We can't prevent every hurt, but we can build a community where those hurts are named honestly, we seek to repair the harm caused, and share leadership so the weight is not ours alone.
This is the kind of formation we practice in our Praxis Community Cohorts. Our next cohorts begin in January and we invite you to take the journey with us! #SomethingNewIsPossible
There's a version of church planting built on information.
You read the books, attend the conferences, and you put together a strategy. But before long you discover that that information alone doesn't produce the kind of leader a new community actually needs.
Formation does.
Formation shapes not just what you know, but who you're becoming. It's about your emotional health, your embodied habits, your relational patterns.
And that kind of formation is slower. It takes time. Thirty weeks of it, alongside peers who are doing the same work. This is what our Praxis Community Cohorts are built around. #SomethingNewIsPossible
The question is no longer whether you're doing this; it's "how?"
And underneath the momentum: do I actually have what it takes to sustain this over the long haul? Most planters carry that question alone. That's the part we want to change.
A Triage Center vs. A Greenhouse
"We didn't feel called to be a triage center, but we still want to honor that people are hurt and need a place to grow and heal."

The Heart of the Church in a Post-Church World
"Jesus never built a center and waited for people to come to him."
Something New Is Possible
Institutional Participation vs. Spiritual Apathy
"We are not living in a post-spiritual age. There are millions that are stepping away from institutional church participation but they have not abandoned transcendence."
