We tracked mental health trends in VA to find out more about Veteran alcohol use, suicide risk, PTSD and depression. Read more about what we found in our publication, as well as implications for improving clinical care: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/4216… #VisualAbstract
During the 2021-2024 screening period, positive screens for depression increased by 9% and increased by 30% for PTSD. Positive screens decreased by 29% for suicide risk and decreased by 7% for alcohol use disorder. Findings suggest need to manage depression and PTSD while signaling improvements for suicide risk and alcohol use disorder.
