FINALLY & WELL DESERVED!
Saint Joseph's University Vice President and Director of Athletics Ashwin Puri announced today that Phil Martelli, the winningest coach in Saint Joseph’s men’s basketball history, will be enshrined in the Saint Joseph's Athletic Hall of Fame as the lone member of the Class of 2027, in an induction ceremony later this year. #THWND

RING THAT BELLE! 🔔 🛎️ 💥
Cc @thepeppas … do we have a large bell to go crazy on!? BTW great energy for the dress rehearsal!
Conversely we saw a negative box score from a new comer w/ somewhat sneaky good stats. Caught our eye early for being a great grit & banger inside kind-of-guy … Torey Alston with a -11, but showed some versatility!

Postgame analysis from The Stu from your “Henrico beat reporter” as Phil Martelli Jr. called me after the presser 💀
Blake Harper was magnificent, game-high 30 pts, 10 of 15 from field, team-high 9 rebounds. Nowell 10 pts, Belle/Djokovic/Jennings 9 apiece. JMU outrebounded VCU 44-34. Rams seven blocks, shot 9 of 20 (45%) from downtown.
