New York’s aging buildings weren’t built for today’s learning needs or tomorrow’s climate realities. A Carbon Free & Healthy Schools Bond Act would modernize classrooms and campuses, improve student health, support clean-energy goals, and create thousands of good union jobs across the state.
If we’re serious about student health, academic success and meeting New York’s clean-energy goals, we need a statewide investment in healthy schools that matches the scope of the challenge. @NYSAFLCIO @TimesUnion

Friday celebration: The VTA/VCSD raised $2140.08 (and 75 non-perishables) to donate to the Victor-Farmington Food Cupboard via our annual turkey raffle. Special thanks to Chelsea Shaw and our reps for their efforts coordinating! @nysut @VictorSchools
Beth Weeden and Mike Modleski spent the weekend at the NYS Teacher Retirement System Conference. The system strong as ever thanks to the work of the NYSTRS staff, oversight of the NYSTRS board, and the advocacy of our union. Thank you Beth for giving up her weekend to join Mike!
The VTA executive board welcomed our newest members to the organization this past week. We had a great morning celebrating the benefits of union membership and enjoying a delicious lunch provided by the @VictorSchools cafeteria staff. Next up? DAY 1!! @nysut

If you live in New York, make your plan to vote YES for your school budget on Tuesday! Be sure to tell all of your friends and neighbors too.
The 2025 NYSUT RA is underway! This year was a little extra special thanks to the Victor Varsity Choir who kicked off the party with a great performance followed by the National Anthem. Special thanks to music teacher Kristin Mellema for making it happen! #nysutra @VictorSchools
