Hey #hemp farmers, manufacturers, retailers and everyone I missed. I hate to say I told you so but here we are!! 1/ The Griffith bill (H.R. 7212) doesn’t close the conversion loophole—it codifies it. Section 781 of P.L. 119-37 already rewrote the hemp definition (7 U.S.C. §1639o) to total THC (including THCA) + exclusions for anything synthesized outside the plant. Most of that hits Dec 11. Griffith doesn’t amend or delay it. 2/ Griffith’s bill is source-neutral: cannabinoids are defined “regardless of source or method of production.” Delta-8 and Delta-9 are listed by name. Isomerizing CBD/CBC into them is not banned—it’s treated as a regulated product under FDA (with mg caps). Result: growers are locked into only non-intoxicating plant extracts (CBD, CBC, etc.). Converters get the legal market. 3/ Quiet ban by definition: Section 781 never says “ban CBD.” It just makes commercial production of those non-intoxicating cannabinoids impossible at scale once intermediates exceed the threshold. No pathway to DEA-licensed, medical, or recreational markets. Griffith regulates the remnant and abandons the grower.
Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-VA) is suggesting that lawmakers include provisions to keep hemp THC products federally legal—with new regulations—in a filibuster-proof budget reconciliation bill that could pass in the lame duck session of Congress following the midterm elections. marijuanamoment.net/congress…

This was one of the most emotional podcasts I’ve ever recorded. I sat down with my oldest son, Matthew Jr., to debrief his tour at Dover AFB and mortuary affairs operations - where America’s fallen come home. Now he joins @NoFallenHeroes to help reach our living heroes before we lose them. Proud of you, son. Watch full podcast on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, or Spotify in comment below. @SuziNFH

I hate this part of the process in the structure of the price action because people bored or clueless about the price action start to turn hostile against each other. Just GTFO there and LIVE your life, touch grass or something if you can’t control your emotions, remain composed or respectful in this environment. FFS

True story. @CEDclinic has seen tons of patients using #medicalcannabis for nicotine replacement. Not ideal for everyone, but knowledge=power. A smoker who knows him/her self, armed with product knowledge (quell cravings or anxiety), the better the odds. marijuanamoment.net/marijuan…

✅ Police attempted underage purchases at 1,452 licensed marijuana dispensaries. Their efforts were rejected by retail staff over 99.5% of the time. Data from state after state after state show that licensed dispensaries are in strict compliance with age requirements and nearly always deny access to minors. 🔗 Link to story in comments.

Aurora's response is grossly inadequate and negligent to its shareholders.  $ACB has stated it has begun a process with multiple parties yet is purposely excluding the largest cannabis company in the world that's made a real bid with a clear path to value creation. $ACB is also questioning our synergies assumptions but are refusing to provide us due diligence access necessary to do just that.  Make it make sense! The fundamental question is: why is $ACB so determined to keep $CURA out of the room? $CURLF

The most dangerous thing you can do in investing isn’t being wrong. It’s overplaying your hand. I’ve spent 20 years investing in bankruptcies, distressed assets, and situations where almost everyone else has given up. I’ve made fortunes buying things nobody wanted to touch. And I’ve learned something: being right is only half the trade. You can identify the opportunity, buy towards the bottom, survive the chaos, and still manage to screw it all up by pushing for that last dollar. There’s a peculiar arrogance that comes with being right. You start believing you’re entitled to the entire upside. You’re not. Some of the best money I’ve ever made was money I left on the table. The goal isn’t to win every hand. It’s to stay at the table long enough for the really extraordinary ones to come along.

I am getting lots of incoming questions about the public execution of Nidal Hasan, mostly because I have been outspoken on wanting public executions for over a decade. My position is simple: Executions should be public and brutal, not private and medicalized. They are the ultimate example of the state's monopoly on violence, and the only way to keep that from running out of control is to confront voters with the trade they have made every single time, that they might have appropiate confidence or revulsion in the institution. This is not new thinking. George Washington thought the same. The way we have shifted from hanging to firing squads to doctors quietly injecting chemicals that send our worst gently off to sleep is awful and dystopian, a total short-circuiting of important feedback mechanisms. It makes needless executions more likely, not less so. People who demean this as barbaric or yucky miss the whole point. It doesn't somehow become torture or inhumane (as the UN is suddenly claiming) just because we decline to hide the act behind a curtain. And then there are those who suggest any revel in the death of those who truly deserve it is an indicator of a broken or diseased mind. To the contrary. It is normal, good, and aligned with our natural and national order. That it has not been done here in 60 years is an indictment in and of itself. And that is without even getting into the fact that men were not hung for stealing horse, but that horses may not be stolen. "I would to God that one of the most attrocious in each State was hung in Gibbets, up on a gallows five times as high as the one prepared by Haman. No punishment, in my opinion, is too great for the Man, who can build his greatness upon his Country’s ruin." - George Washington, 1778
