In March 2022, the Ronin Network suffered an exploit that resulted in over $600 million in stolen assets.
One incident. Thousands of users affected. A painful reminder of how quickly things can go wrong in crypto.
This is the kind of reality that drives what we’re building at Vera.
Our mission is to make security investigation more accessible, helping people understand suspicious wallets, links, transactions and digital identities through available evidence.
And we’re taking things further.
We’re working on something
There’s a lot taking shape behind the scenes.
The next chapter of Vera is going to be exciting.

Replying to @binance
@binance says a hack has affected around $6.3 billion in funds, roughly four times the amount hit in the Bybit theft of February 2025, the previous record.
The exchange paused deposits and withdrawals and pledged to cover customer losses.
Moments like this produce a flood of claims, and many of them are unverified.
Vera is built for exactly that situation. We investigate first, so people can act on evidence rather than headlines.
Here is what the evidence shows so far, including details that received less attention

Vera is built for exactly that situation. We investigate first, so people can act on evidence rather than headlines.
Here is what the evidence shows so far, including details that received less attention
What is confirmed, and what is not yet clear:
⇝ Binance says roughly $3 billion is frozen on-chain. Tether froze nearly $1.57 billion and Circle more than $800 million.
@binance has not updated the status of the remaining $3.3 billion.
⇝ Binance’s initial investigation points to a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, which gave an attacker access to a service container to submit unauthorized withdrawals.
The company says it found no evidence of a wallet private key leak. A full post-mortem has not been published yet.
⇝ Early on-chain movements first prompted claims of a roughly $2 billion hack before Binance put the estimate at $6.3 billion.
The company also posted sometimes contradictory messages, stating that user funds were completely safe while promising to cover all losses.
⇝ TRM Labs said it had high confidence the attack was carried out by the North Korea-linked group TraderTraitor. That attribution comes from outside researchers.
Binance has not confirmed it.
⇝ A separate incident hit Polymarket the same day, involving a compromised third-party provider. The two are reported as unrelated.
⇝ Binance held roughly $144 billion in assets on its platform before the incident. One analyst said it does not currently appear to create meaningful solvency risk.
Large incidents create ideal conditions for scams: fake recovery pages, impersonators, and urgent requests for account details.
@cz_binance itself urged users to avoid unofficial links and requests for account information.
Before you click, sign, or send:
⇝ Confirm the source through the official channel, not a link in a message
⇝ Never share a seed phrase or private key with anyone, for any reason
⇝ Investigate anything unfamiliar before you act on it
Vera helps you investigate suspicious links, messages, Solana wallets and transactions using available threat intelligence and evidence-based analysis, so your decisions rest on more than a headline.
Know before you act.

There’s more to the picture than meets the eye.
Vera is quietly working on something that could change how you investigate before you act.
We’re not revealing much just yet.
But the next chapter is closer than you think.
Stay tuned.

Something bigger is taking shape at Vera.
We’re working behind the scenes to bring more of the onchain world into one place for investigation.
No noise. No blind trust. Just evidence.
Stay close.
Your wallet doesn't live on one chain.
Soon, neither will VERA.
Something big is coming

On the evening of October 17, a security alert landed on people's phones.
It didn't come from a random number or a strange email. It came through the real notification system of a hardware wallet company's own app.
The message was urgent. Something about securing their wallet. It linked to a page that asked them to confirm their recovery words.
Think about who these people were. They owned hardware wallets. They were the careful ones. The ones who did everything right.
And still, in a few hours, 84 wallets were emptied. Roughly $2.65 million, across six blockchains, gone before midnight.
Attackers hadn't broken the wallets. They'd broken into the outside service the app used to send push notifications. Once they controlled the alerts, they controlled the moment.
That's how almost every scam works. It isn't the technology that fails. It's the few seconds between seeing something urgent and acting on it.
A familiar logo. A trusted channel. A deadline. Your brain fills in the rest.
There's one rule that would have saved every one of those wallets: no legitimate wallet, exchange or support team will ever ask for your recovery phrase. Ever.
But rules are hard to remember when you're panicking. So we built something for that exact moment.
VERA lets you paste the message, the link, the wallet or the transaction you're about to act on, and see what the evidence says before you do anything. It separates what was observed from what it means, and turns it into a clear next step.
You don't have to be an expert. You just have to pause long enough to check.
Know before you act.
