How to Create a Conviction on @xomarket One thing I like about XO is that anyone can create a Conviction. You don't have to wait for someone else to make the market you want to see. But how exactly does it work, and what are Conviction Points and the 20% fee share? Let's get into it. 1. Start creating your Conviction XO gives you five steps to create a Conviction. You can use AI to help draft it or fill in the details yourself. The AI can help with the rules, data source, date and cover image. You can edit everything before signing, so make sure the details are correct. 2. Make your rules clear This is probably the most important part. Your Conviction needs clear rules so people know exactly what they're predicting and how the outcome will be decided. Make sure you: - State exactly what needs to happen. - Set a clear deadline. - Name a reliable source that will confirm the result. - Make sure YES and NO cover every possible outcome without overlapping. - Explain what happens if the source is unavailable or the result is unclear. You don't want people arguing about the outcome because your rules weren't clear enough. 3. Pick a side and place your seed order Creating a Conviction isn't just about writing a question. You have to choose YES or NO, stake at least $10, and set a seed price between 5¢ and 95¢. This first order seeds the market's order book. In simple terms, it gives other traders an initial price to work with when they start trading. 4. Submit your Conviction Once you've checked everything and signed, XO handles the technical side. It creates the market through a sponsored on-chain transaction, submits your initial buy order as a GTC order (good till cancelled), and checks the market catalogue until your Conviction appears. You don't have to handle those technical steps yourself. 5. Understand the 20% fee share One interesting part of XO's Convictions is the creator-fee share. The idea is that creators can receive 20% of the eligible trading fees generated by their Conviction. Here's a simple example: If a market generates $500 in eligible trading fees, a 20% share would be $100 for the creator. That's $100 out of the fees collected, not $100 out of the total amount traded. The actual amount depends on the eligible fees generated and XO's applicable fee rules. 6. What are Conviction Points (CP)? CP stands for Conviction Points. These are reward points you can earn through activities on XO. You can accumulate CP through platform activity, referrals and providing liquidity to markets. CP also have uses within the XO ecosystem. For example, you can use them as entry tokens for XO Parlays, where you predict a group of outcomes, such as a full round of Premier League matches, and compete for a share of a platform-funded USDC reward pool. This format lets participants compete without staking their own money on each parlay entry. 7. What can you do with CP? CP can also count towards platform milestones. One example is the Believer role in the XO Market Discord, which is associated with reaching 5,000 CP. So CP aren't the same thing as USDC. They're platform reward points with specific uses and milestones. XO gives creators a way to bring their own ideas to the platform, while CP provide another way to participate in its ecosystem. If you're creating a Conviction, pay attention to the rules, make sure the outcome can be verified, and understand the initial order you're placing.
