We're delighted to confirm that work will begin on Monday, August 17 on the first phase of a major improvement project at King George V Playing Fields in Exeter. The project is supported by almost £2 million from the Premier League, The FA and Government's Football Foundation, £464,948 via section 106 contributions from Exeter City Council, and investment from the charity itself. Phase one will include a new 3G pitch, two Football Foundation PlayZones, parking improvements, and a refurbished pavilion with accessible changing rooms and community-use rooms. The accessible play area and all pathways will remain open throughout construction, with work expected to be completed by spring 2027. A second phase - including Padel courts, a community café, woodland trails and further pitch improvements - is also planned. This is a significant investment in the future of our community in Exeter, and a project we are enormously proud to be delivering.
