A bunch of Unidens got some firmware updates today, mostly laser jammer stuff, but also some Ka Notches. I'm working on full video now, but a quick look at something.. the R9w gets some new directional bars that make it much easier to see the direction of different alerts.

I recently had a tough 33.8 detection in tricky terrain with the @Uniden_America R9w. The detector did the job, but it's a good example of short alert times you can get on curvy backroads.
Bonus: This was shot on the @Thinkware ARC 800 that was just released.

I just finished some response time testing with the recently updated Cobra RAD 700i. Extreme Mode definitely helps to speed up the detector on K and Ka band. I've been driving in Auto mode, and now I'm understanding why it's been so quiet on K band, lol.

The Valentine 1 Gen2 just got a nice new firmware update that improves its photo radar capabilities. Here's all the changes in this mid-August 2026 upgrade, firmware 4.1039. #radardetector
Stalker has just announced an update to their DSR 2X radar gun called the DSR 2X+. It has an updated display, smaller counting unit, can export testing logs, and adds app integration.

The @Uniden_America R8 is officially being discontinued! Looks like it'll be fully replaced by the R8w. Uniden is selling it for $75 off while supplies last, so it's now $125 cheaper than the R8w if you don't need the WiFi OTA update features.

The Stealth Mount passes power directly through the mount, so you can quickly attach or remove your radar detector without touching the power cable. Pretty slick.
