A community cannot heal where there is no truth. We refuse to let the ICE shooting of Carlos Ivan Mendoza Hernandez be swept under the rug.

My statement on the Eric Swalwell allegations:

Knocking on doors and talking to voters is so much more fun with my little canvassing buddy!

My heart and deepest sympathies are with the Hernandez family, his fiancée, and his 2-year-old child.

Many throughout CA5 already live in a healthcare desert, and until we fix staffing shortages and Medicaid reimbursement rates, the few facilities we do have are at risk of shutting down. Access to affordable, reliable, and quality healthcare is a basic human need.

I'm aware of reports of a shooting involving ICE in Stanislaus County and am closely monitoring the situation as more information becomes available.

What are the top issues facing this District? For me, it's healthcare, wildfires, affordability, housing, jobs, and the economy.

I'm joining @StopBigMoney’s Unrig Washington Campaign: a bold, public commitment to clean up Congress. I'm leading by example by refusing corporate PAC money, supporting a stock trading ban, and cracking down on dark money.
