1/3 Just been involved in trying to stop a gang of young boys dressed in black trying to batter someone at Lidl on Jamaica street.
The police have been called but there's one security guard trying to protect 3 vulnerable people scared to step outside.
2/2 people were walking on by scared to intervene but they were baying for a fight 5 against one which is attempted murder in my opinion. Another man told me he had also been targeted and was scared to leave he was hiding behind the security guard while they targeted
3/3 there was also another elderly man trying to shield the guy they were targeting.
These wee emboldened bullies are running amok unchecked on a violent spree in our city in daylight.
We need an incident response unit in that part of town manned 24/7 NOW @PoliceScotland

In current context of the racist disorder, violence & threats, GDA has been contacted by members who are afraid for themselves, their children & their neighbours. Some have told us they are scared to let their children travel to school on their own or on public transport.

She played a pivotal role in the creation of Social Security Scotland and was passionate about placing dignity, fairness and respect at the heart of everything we do.

First Minister @JohnSwinney has expressed his sadness following the passing of Jeane Freeman.
She served as the Minister for Social Security from 2016 to 2018. She then became Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport until her retirement in 2021.

ALT Jeane devoted her life to serving the public & I am shocked & saddened at her death. As Health Secretary during the Covid pandemic, she faced up to the biggest public health crisis Scotland has ever seen & steered a course through an immensely difficult time for our country & our health service, working tirelessly & acting throughout with honesty & selflessness. I will miss her greatly, & my thoughts and deep condolences are with her partner Susan & wider family, & her many friends.
It's even better when you realise this was before Jeane had joined the SNP and was doing grassroots organising for WFI and the Indy movement.

I voted for the Right to Addiction Recovery (Scotland) Bill today, alongside my Scottish Labour colleagues.
It’s shameful this Bill was voted down, denying MSPs the opportunity to amend and test the Bill at later stages.
Meanwhile our friends and loved ones die. A dark day.
