Act now to lower your risk of colorectal cancer.
Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in the Eastern Mediterranean Region and the fifth leading cause of cancer-related deaths.
While some risk factors are beyond our control, there are things we can do to lower our risk and catch the disease early.
🥦 Eat more fruits and vegetables and less processed and red meat
🏃 Stay active and maintain a healthy weight
🚭 Avoid tobacco and limit alcohol consumption
🧬 Family history, inherited conditions and age also matter – it is important to know your personal risk
Colorectal cancer can be treated successfully, especially when it is found early.
Screening can detect cancer before symptoms appear. It can find and remove precancerous growths before they develop into cancer.
Know your risk. Talk to a health professional about screening. Don’t wait to act.
