Time to come off of this place.

Replying to @wikileaks
And, as a reminder, this is just a tiny bit of what Wikileaks helped expose with the Iraq War Logs - here from my time at the Bureau of Investigative Journalism. This is why Julian was sent to prison. This.

The judge’s sentencing remarks have finally put an end to this baseless smear.
Replying to @Stella_Assange
“There’s another significant fact – the government has indicated there is no personal victim here. That tells me the dissemination of this information did not result in any known physical injury. “These two facts are very relevant. I would say if this was still unknown and closer to [2012] I would not be so inclined to accept this plea agreement before me. “But it’s the year 2024”

JULIAN ASSANGE: "There is a desire and a method being erected for the USA principally to engage in an extraterritorial land grab through the abuse of law. It is attempting to apply its jurisdictions to all countries in the world…and destroy their sovereignty.” Julian is now finally a free man after horrific persecution that lasted over a decade, imposed on him by the US and UK for simply revealing the truth. youtu.be/skjG-HC_8gU?si=iEfF…

I’m in tears watching this. They tried to break him, to kill him. Seeing this seems unreal. He needs to finally get out of their clutches, quickly, get to a safe place and be looked after.

JULIAN ASSANGE IS FREE Julian Assange is free. He left Belmarsh maximum security prison on the morning of 24 June, after having spent 1901 days there. He was granted bail by the High Court in London and was released at Stansted airport during the afternoon, where he boarded a plane and departed the UK. This is the result of a global campaign that spanned grass-roots organisers, press freedom campaigners, legislators and leaders from across the political spectrum, all the way to the United Nations. This created the space for a long period of negotiations with the US Department of Justice, leading to a deal that has not yet been formally finalised. We will provide more information as soon as possible. After more than five years in a 2x3 metre cell, isolated 23 hours a day, he will soon reunite with his wife Stella Assange, and their children, who have only known their father from behind bars. WikiLeaks published groundbreaking stories of government corruption and human rights abuses, holding the powerful accountable for their actions. As editor-in-chief, Julian paid severely for these principles, and for the people's right to know. As he returns to Australia, we thank all who stood by us, fought for us, and remained utterly committed in the fight for his freedom. Julian's freedom is our freedom. [More details to follow]

“He [Julian] is the most awarded journalist of our time. He is being prosecuted because of his work as a publisher - because of the things that he has revealed in the public interest.” @Stella_Assange briefing European Parliament members on the persecution of #Assange This Friday is World Press Freedom Day. Julian Assange will have been locked up in prison for 5 years. For publishing information in the public interest. #WorldPressFreedomDay #WPFD2024 #LetHimGoJoe

April 25 marks 13 years since Julian Assange through @wikileaks began the #gitmofiles, lifting a lid on atrocities and abuses at the US detention camp For standing up for the public’s right to know, the publisher has endured over 13 years detention already, and faces a 175 year sentence or worse if extradited to the US Around the world rights groups, heads of state, politicians and the public have made their feelings clear that his prosecution must be dropped and he be allowed to be reunited with his young family On May 20 a UK court will decide if it will allow his extradition which experts including the United Nations have said he will likely not survive
