Binance says they’re “investigating a potential security issue,” killed withdrawals, and that user funds are safe and will be covered. CZ himself said it “does look like a hack.”
Tether, Circle, and World Liberty Financial (WLFI) all froze big chunks of the stolen USDT, USDC, and USD1.

WLFI is the Trump family crypto project. Co-founded by Donald, Don Jr., Eric, Barron, and the Witkoffs (Steve as co-founder/promoter, son Zach as CEO). Trump-linked entities have historically taken 75% of protocol revenue via DT Marks DEFI LLC.
Days before the 2025 inauguration, a UAE-linked group backed by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed bought a 49% stake for $500 Million. Substantial proceeds went to Trump and Witkoff family entities.
WLFI’s USD1 stablecoin was used in the $2B MGX (Emirati) investment into Binance. That deal helped launch USD1. Now WLFI is the one freezing the stolen USD1.
And the CZ pardon? Trump fully pardoned him in October 2025 after CZ pled guilty to money-laundering violations tied to Binance and did time. The pardon came after Binance’s support for USD1 and the related deals. Democrats called it a conflict. White House called it reversing Biden-era crypto enforcement.
World Liberty Financial and ISDA1 were granted a Federal banking license backed by the US Treasury by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
