Saddened to learn of the passing of Jim Copenhaver.
Jim was shot twice at the Butler rally on July 13, 2024.
He survived that day, but he never fully recovered from the wounds. For two years he lived with surgeries, remaining fragments, and pain that never left him.
Those of us who were there that day have never forgotten Corey Comperatore, David Dutch, or Jim. Butler County still carries that afternoon.
May he rest in peace.

Floyd Prosecutor Awarded $1.6 Million:
Hennepin County Prosecutor Amy Sweasy said there wasn’t enough evidence to charge the three other officers involved in George Floyd’s death.
She also objected to adding additional charges against Derek Chauvin, saying the evidence simply wasn’t there. When her bosses insisted she do it anyway, she withdrew from the case.
Hennepin County’s response to this? They retaliated against her, removed her supervisory role and transferred her to a less favorable unit. So, she sued Hennepin County and won - $1.6 million.
This is just another example of the evidence in the George Floyd case simply not fitting the narrative everyone had already agreed on.
Sweasy knew the case was weak, lost her position for saying so, but in the end was vindicated and awarded Hennepin County’s largest cash award for a non-death settlement.

Floyd's Autopsy Report Changed -
Dr. Andrew Baker initially told prosecutors that George Floyd’s autopsy revealed no physical findings supporting traumatic asphyxia or strangulation.
Then Baker spoke with former Washington, D.C. medical examiner Dr. Roger Mitchell, who threatened to write a critical op-ed about him. Dr. Mitchell insisted that “Neck Compression” be included in the final diagnosis, and Baker complied.
Shortly afterward, “neck compression” appeared in the public findings, while the drugs in Floyd’s system were no longer mentioned in the press release.
In fact, Baker went a step further and classified Floyd’s death as a “homicide,” another piece of information lacking from Baker’s original report.
And once the report was changed to Dr. Mitchell’s satisfaction – he no longer found it necessary to write that op-ed. He wanted neck compression and that’s exactly what Baker gave him to keep BLM from showing up at his front door.

12 years ago today, Cpl. Bryon Keith Dickson II, PSP Troop R, Blooming Grove, made the ultimate sacrifice after being ambushed outside the barracks. Trooper Alex Douglass was also shot and critically wounded. We remember Bryon, his service, and his sacrifice. 1/4
Communities waited, watched, prayed, and supported those who served. People opened their homes and hearts during those difficult weeks. Bryon's sacrifice brought a region together and reminded those wearing the Badge that they were not alone. 3/4

Attorney says Minnesota prosecutors have been 'ignoring' the law in charging police officers
Attorney Chris Madel spoke with Liz Collin on her podcast about how Minnesota police officers have been prosecuted without a grand jury indictment — as required by Minnesota law.
Madel raised this issue while defending Minnesota Trooper Ryan Londregan before Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty dropped the charges in the case.
However, the lack of a grand jury indictment also affects the prosecutions of other Minnesota police officers, including Derek Chauvin, who raised this same issue in his latest petition. “I think with respect to Minnesota Statute 628.61 ... I think they're just ignoring it. There is no real other explanation for it," said Madel.
