What's heartbreaking is that this doesn't catalyze focus on actions that reduce the effects of climate change. What's also heartbreaking is the lack of foresight to design these facilities for resilience & adaptation, especially when they support the community in times of crisis.

Scary scene in Kansas City in the Copa America match between Peru and Canada. The ref collapsed from what looks to be heat stroke. He was able to stand after medical personnel tended to him and was carted off. Current heat index there is 101°!

We’ve been talking (warning) about this for a long time. Calling for urgent adaptation strategies from the rooftops!Extreme heat is typical now. Sport has been implicated for a while. I love baseball and I want it to survive, but this is scary scary @SportEcoGroup #sportecology – at Cincinnati, OH

Important report here ahead of this summer of sport as Athletes issue warning about ‘hottest Games on record’ but heatwaves could affect more than just the Olympics as well as fans and those working at events could be affected too. theguardian.com/sport/articl…
