This is exactly why βjust doing the obsβ needs to be banned. BP monitoring alongside the remaining vital signs should be part of a comprehensive clinical assessment 100% of the time!
Horrific. 56-year-old - 5hrs in ED without a blood pressure reading or repeat observations @uhbtrust. By the time bloods are taken and return 10hrs later.,Tracey Farndon, is dead!
Blood pressure machines couldnβt pick up low bp and no-one could use a manual machine!

I've been told some trusts may be reducing testing after 7 days (which would make results falsely low) - please let me know if you have any info.
