Through PWVA, Chhoto Molla Para brought its struggles to light for the first time. Through community consultation, household surveys, and a validation workshop, they proved they were the most at-risk ward in the entire union; and secured approval for a piped water supply system.

From Paris to Antalya: Reflections on Climate Finance for Nature Today, WaterAid Bangladesh supported and participated in ‘From Paris to Antalya: Reflections on Climate Finance for Nature’, a national dialogue organised by Change Initiative under #GO4IMPact.

Clean hands today. Healthy habits for life. 🧼💧 Today, we marked Global Handwashing Day at two schools in Gazipur and Savar under the Oporajita II project. The activities encouraged pupils to learn why handwashing matters and make it part of their daily routine.

In the PWVA process, a 'validation workshop' brings together the household survey vulnerability score and the Ward Development Action Plan developed through community consultation. All relevant stakeholders meet to review the results and align them with planned projects.

Harvest rainwater. Ease pressure on groundwater.💧 As Bangladesh’s industrial water demand grows, rainwater harvesting offers an opportunity to reduce reliance on groundwater where conditions allow. Our team visited BSRM’s factories in Chattogram and its Mirsharai Complex.

PWVA helps determine household-level vulnerability scores through a structured household survey. An impact score is calculated from five key indicators, and an adaptive capacity score from four; the gap between the two reveals exactly how at risk a family is.

At the second Strategic Partnership Forum meeting, Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna and Rajshahi WASAs shared lessons and explored joint action to improve water connections for low-income communities and address common challenges.
