To end new HIV infections, all who have the virus must be known & treated without stigmatising them & all who don't have it must also be known & empowered with relevant knowledge & information so that they can protect themselves.#endAIDSby2030 – at Kampala, Uganda
Provider initiated counselling & testing is good practice that improves the rate of finding people with HIV & putting them on ARVs. #endAIDSby2030 – at Kampala, Uganda
Older people with HIV who are doing well on ARVs need to support & mentor young people with HIV (15-25 years) who are not doing well. No one should be left behind; because no one is safe until all of us are safe. #endAIDSby2030

To end HIV/AIDS faster and smarter, we must all work hand-in-hand to identify individuals with HIV who are not on ARVs & put them on the treatment. People with HIV on ARVs who have undetectable viral loads are doing well & not infecting others #endAIDSby2030
To eliminate mother-to- child transmission of HIV faster & smarter, all pregnant mothers must be encouraged & supported to attend antenatal care early & deliver at health facilities that have prevention of mother-to-child services. We all have a role to play #endAIDSby2030 – at Kampala, Uganda
Today I was at the dissemination launch of a UCU research project "Olutindo" (the bridge), about SRH of adolescent girls. In summary most adolescent girls trust their parents most, less religious leaders & least politicians when it comes to talking about sex.#ucuresearch – at Kampala, Uganda
People living with HIV with palliative care needs ought to be identified as early as possible, so that they are counseled & a pain management plan made in order to avoid the rampant health related suffering. #endAIDSby2030 – at Jinja, Uganda
We must avoid self medication & get all medication; including ARVs for treatment or PrEP from accredited health care facilities & pharmacies in order to end abuse of drugs. #endAIDSby2030 – at Kampala, Uganda

Today I was honoured to meet Sister Antenella Wegosasa, over 40 years since we last mey at Nyondo Dispensary where she was in-charge & I was in my final year at medical school. I shared with her how I miraculously escaped dying of AIDS in the 1990s & was ageing gracefully – at Mbale, Uganda
TB & HIV are closely associated; because when one has HIV & a low CD4 count, one is at high risk of developing active TB. However, one developing TB while on ARVs doesn't necessarily mean one's ARVs are not working for them. #endAIDSby2030 – at Kampala, Uganda
Using a combination of prevention methods by people who are HIV negative & know it & putting people who are HIV positive and know it on ARVs is what will help us end AIDS being a threat to public health by 2030.#endAIDSby2030 – at Kampala, Uganda
It's my strongest belief that it's science that will help us end AIDS being a threat to public health by 2030. We must link science to community & use what God has revealed through medical science like, "U=U" to end AIDS. #endAIDSby2030 – at Mbale, Uganda
To end AIDS being a threat to public health by 2030, we must focus on Advanced HIV Disease (AHD). People with AHD have low CD4 counts & high viral loads. They're the ones who mainly die of AIDS & easily transmit the virus to others because they are very infectious. – at Uganda
On 26th June I met with leaders of the Kumam cultural institution in Soroti City. I encouraged them to embrace & use science to help their people get out of poverty & fight diseases like HIV; instead of propagating toxic cultural practices like child marriages. – at Mbale, Uganda
Healthy lifestyles like eating healthy foods, exercising regularly & avoiding harmful practices must be embraced by all people on ARVs and other treatments, for chronic conditions like diabetes & high blood pressure to ensure good treatment outcomes #endAIDSby2030 – at Kampala, Uganda
Today I visited Bugembe HC4, supported by MJAP & noticed efforts towards integration of chronic care services as guided by MoH. Hopefully this helps with reduction of stigma associated with HIV & mental health conditions instead of seeing them in silos. #endAIDSby2030 – at Uganda
