Another picture perfect fall weekend! Temperatures are near normal with highs in the mid-60s with lower humidity in place. Clear skies and calm conditions will lead to a chilly start tomorrow morning before a beautiful afternoon!

If people could share this post I would really appreciate it. This book would be a great holiday gift for children, teachers, school libraries or to donate to a children’s hospital or mental health organization. My books are self published so it’s hard to get them out there.
A student did an entry today in my book Chance to Shine. Each of the 200 lessons has a mental health message, affirmation, & writing prompt to reflect on. It can be used by teachers for mental health lessons or for individual use as a guided journal. a.co/d/0ja7v0Kd

Rains look impressive coming our way this evening, but the bulk of that rain stays in the mountains and then falls apart as it works into the metro.
Some brief heavy downpours overnight, but no widespread good rain. Highest totals stay in the mountains with an inch or more.

We have some clear sky early this morning but it won't be long before clouds take over. Low clouds are quickly moving in from the east along with high clouds from the west. These clouds will thicken up even more this afternoon, but rain chances stay quite low until overnight.

This is remarkable. Parts of Florida’s Space Coast have received up to *half a year’s worth of rain* in the last day and a half — as much as 27 inches in 36 hours, about 50% of an average year’s rainfall (radar estimate through 5 p.m. ET Monday).
The most extreme totals occurred in the stretch from Palm Bay to Valkaria.
What contributed to this:
• A deep flow of moisture from record-warm waters in the southwestern Atlantic
• Weak winds through the middle atmosphere, which kept storms slow-moving
• Background moisture levels boosted by a record El Niño, riding the tailwind of a warming climate

It's Midterm Election Day and the weather looks great. A cool start will be followed by a very mild afternoon. Highs in the mid to upper 70s!
Get out and vote!

I'm tracking our next rain chance, but it may not add up to much.
A weak front arrives with limited moisture late Wednesday into Thursday. The mountains once again get the bulk of the rain...little adds up east though. Can't rule out a rumble of thunder but no big storms.

What to do…What to do! Leftover candy from very few Trick or Treaters. The good stuff. Reese’s PB Cups and Snickers. Now the will power begins…limiting how many my wife and I eat a day. 😁

Happy Sunday! We're waking up to some light showers trying to move in west of Charlotte. Burke and Cleveland counties have the best chance to see some of this light rain this morning. Rain will have a harder time moving east as it encounters drier air.

After near record-breaking temps today, we are cooling things down for Halloween weekend! Temperatures will drop into the upper 60s, which is much closer to average. It will be cloudier too, though still no rain in sight.

Just another late fall day off the North Atlantic. This storm is forecast to produce nearly 30 ft. waves offshore of Ireland and 75+ mph winds at Stornaway in the Outer Hebrides in Scotland. They gusted to 84 mph just a couple days ago. @eumetsat @CopernicusEU

Of course, the big question for winter will be...."Wet...or white?"

Northeast winds keep temperatures a little cooler this weekend compared to the work week, but it's still a picture perfect fall weekend! Expect the occasional wind gust near 20 mph. Skies stay nice and sunny with highs in the mid to upper 60s ☀️

We have some great weather for your weekend with sunshine and cool temps. It will be a bit breezy this weekend, so that may make it feel even cooler.

Minor temperature change heading into the weekend.
High pressure in the northeast will wedge cooler down the lee of the Appalachians. This drops temps back to the 60s for highs this weekend.
It's a dry wedge though, no clouds and no rain with it.

On October 20, 1977, tragedy struck Lynyrd Skynyrd when a plane crash claimed the lives of Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines, assistant road manager Dean Kilpatrick, and pilots Walter McCreary and William Gray.
Six lives lost in a tragedy that forever changed the world of Southern rock. We remember each of them today and honor their memory.
Their music endures, and their memory lives on...🖤 🦅
INTERESTING weather pattern next week. Strong indications for healthy storm off east coast thru mid week. Bad news for Atlantic beaches with tides and surf. This storm slows everything down from the west and quiet weather rules the east most of the week. @wsoctv , @WSOCWeather
